Telling Tales (7/11-7/15 • 1 PM-4 PM)Tall tales, fairytales, myths, legends and folklore will be explored in this uniqueintroduction to storytelling, improvisation and design. Students will develop fantastical fairytale fortresses and lands far, far away as they create the settingand then perform the story itself.
Aye, Aye Adventure (7/11-7/15 • 1 PM-4 PM)Dive deep into a dramatic journey as you board the ship and sail the Seven Seastaking inspiration from pirate stories and legends. Use your imagination or you mayhave to walk the plank!
Fantastical Folk (7/18-7/22 • 9 AM-12 PM)Elves, fairies, pixies, talking animals—all of these fabled folk will come to life inthis class for young actors. Learn how to use a script and deliver lines confidently.

Have you ever wondered what kinds of stories are told in Tanzania,Nigeria, Malaysia or Finland? In this dynamic week-long experience,campers will travel around the world to explore and rehearse scripts offolktales from across the globe. Skills in acting and reading will be sharpened—work will be done to strengthen and best utilize the actor’stools of voice and body. Campers will also learn how to take directionand make strong acting choices on their own which can only help in anyfuture auditions a camper chooses to go to!

Broadway has gone rock-n-roll and musical numbers have invaded television. Recently, many pop songs have had musicals created aroundthem—Mamma Mia, Rock of Ages, All Shook Up, Jersey Boys, MillionDollar Quartet, Xanadu and The Wedding Singer—and then there is Gleeand many dancing and singing competitions on television. In this musicalrevue, campers will explore making popular songs theatrical as they challenge all of their triple threat skills in singing, acting and dancing.Focus will be on song interpretation, acting, choreography and gainingvocal strength as the students prepare and rehearse to perform the revue at the end of camp on the Civic Auditorium Stage!

Acting for the Musical Stage (7/25-7/29 • 1 PM-4 PM)It is not just singing and dancing—the song must come to life and have meaning behind it! Explore scenes and songs from popular musicals to gain a stronger technique in musical theatre performance inthis combination class.
Directing for the Stage (7/18-7/22 • 9 AM-12 PM)Learn the basics of staging, blocking, process and script analysis from the director’s point of view. This class will work with the BEYOND BLOCKING class on the actualization of short staging projects.
