Benefits of the Online ACCESS 2.0 Test

Increased student engagement through a more

dynamic testing experience

Built-in accommodations and accessibility features

appropriate for a range of student needs

Staged adaptivity targets students’ individual range of

language skills

Increased ease for test administrators

Logistical flexibility as a result of being able to

simultaneously administer multiple grades and proficiency

levels

Central scoring by DRC for all four domains.

Test Administrators will not need to determine tiers

Roles During Testing

Test Coordinator

• overall coordination of test administration activities: orders, sessions, training verification

• set up user accounts within the new WIDA Assessment Management System (WIDA AMS)

Test Administrator

• administering ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 • Prepping student for an online format • Scoring speaking if it’s paper testing • Monitoring test sessions

Technology Coordinator

• technical and system set up for online testing and working with Data Recognition Corporation (DRC) on any local system issues.

– Licensed teachers or administrators who work in the school

– Licensed teachers or administrators who work in the district

– Paraprofessionals who work in the school

– School district personnel employed by the school district

– Licensed substitute teachers who are employed by the district for the purpose of administering the test

• Grades 1-12 paper ACCESS:

– Reading, Writing, Listtening– same hierarchy as above

– Speaking—Licensed teacher with training in Second Language Acquisition
