Melissa Bandy of Little Rock is a 2011 gradu-ate of the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law. She earned her bachelor’s de-gree in English at Davidson College. While at Bowen, she served as

editor-in-chief for the UALR Law Review and won Top Paper awards in Rhetoric, Writ-ing, and Advocacy; Business Associations; and Secured Transactions. She earned the Dean’s Certificate of Distinguished Service and worked as a Court Appointed Special Advocate and a volunteer soccer coach for the Little Rock Futbol Club. Bandy com-pleted clerkships with Wright, Lindsey & Jennings; Mitchell, Williams, Selig, Gates & Woodyard; Cross, Gunter, Witherspoon & Galchus; Huckabay, Munson, Rowlett & Moore; Quattlebaum, Grooms, Tull & Bur-row; and Kutak Rock.

A 2011 graduate of the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law, Kayla M. Barnett of Sheridan earned her bachelor’s degree in English from Arkansas State University. While in law school, she won the Top Paper award in Lawyering Skills and was a chief honor justice. She was also a member of Phi Alpha Delta, the Christian Legal Society, and the Arkan-sas Association of Women Lawyers and clerked with the James Law Firm and Tapp Law Offices. After graduation, Barnett would like to practice

in the areas of criminal defense, domestic relations, personal injury, contract disputes, estate law, and probate.

A 2011 graduate of the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law, Shane G. Bates of Paris earned his bachelor’s degree in political science at UALR. While in law school he was a member of Delta Theta Phi, a representative in the Student Bar Association, and a member of the National Black Law Students Association, where he also served as 1L Student Representa-tive, Banquet Chair, and Southern Region Sub-Region 1 Director. Bates served as a volunteer student worker with EJW Ameri-corps (Louisiana At-Risk Teen Know Your Rights Guide Project) and Arkansas Voices for the Children Left Behind. He was also a proofreader for the Arkansas Bureau of Leg-islative Research. After graduation, Bates would like to practice in the areas of civil rights, intellectual property, entertainment, or public interest law.

A native of Boulder, Colo., Shira Leah Ber-nstein is a 2011 graduate of the UALR Wil-liam H. Bowen School of Law. She earned her bachelor’s degree in industrial and labor relations at Cornell University. While at Bowen, she was lead part-time Academic Success Mentor; a Reasoning, Writing, and Advocacy Mentor; and research assistant for Professor Ranko Oliver. Bernstein completed a study-abroad program at Oxford University in Oxford, England, and is a member of the Arkansas Association of Women Lawyers, the Out-of-State Student Association, and Phi Alpha Delta.

Philip M. Brooks of Memphis, Tenn., is a 2011 graduate of the UALR William H. Bow-en School of Law. He earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from the Univer-sity of Memphis. While in law school, Brooks clerked for Wilson, Engstrom, Corum, & Coulter Law Firm and completed an extern-ship with Judge William R. Wilson Jr. of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas.

A 2011 gradu-ate of the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law, Jennifer L. Bush of Sher-wood received her bachelor’s degree in economics with a focus on international trade from the University of

Central Arkansas. She earned the Dean’s Certificate of Public Service and completed an externship with Judge Rita Gruber at the Arkansas Court of Appeals. While in law school, Bush also served as vice president of the Arkansas Association of Women Law-yers, vice president of the Christian Legal Society, and co-president of the Pulaski County Bar Association Student Division. She also acted as a judicial administrative assistant for Judge Gruber.

Persephoné D. Butler of Shreveport, La., is a 2011 graduate of the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law. She received her undergraduate degree in criminal justice at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. While at Bowen, Butler was a Black Law Stu-dents Association Scholarship recipient and completed an externship with the Pulaski County Prosecutor’s Office. After gradua-tion, she would like to practice criminal, family, or juvenile law.

A graduate of UALR with a bachelor’s de-gree in liberal arts, Jayme L. Butts-Hall of Alamogordo, N.M., is a 2011 graduate of the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law. While in law school, she was chair of the Moot Court Board, a student member of the Judge William R. Overton American Inn of Court, and an at-large senator in the Student Bar Associa-tion. Butts-Hall completed clerkships with Monterrey & Tellez, PLLC, and Dyer & Jones, PLLC. She would like to practice in the areas of criminal law, juvenile law, family law, or animal law.

Kevin Byrd is a 2011 UALR William H. Bowen School of Law graduate from Hot Springs. He earned his bachelor’s degree in philoso-phy from UALR and completed Advanced Litigation Clinic while in law school. Byrd is interested in a future practice in litigation, professional contracts, and trust manage-ment.

A 2011 gradu-ate of the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law, Candace Campbell is a native of Bir-mingham, Ala., and earned her bachelor’s degree in management from Belmont

University. While in law school, she served as executive editor for the UALR Law Review and as vice president of entertainment for the Sports and Entertainment Law Society.

In addition, Campbell earned Top Paper awards in Legal Research II and Legal Pro-fession. She completed clerkships with Gill, Elrod, Ragon, Owen & Sherman; Williams & Anderson; and Lax, Vaughan, Fortson, McK-enzie & Roe; and externships with Judge Richard Taylor of the United States Bank-ruptcy Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Arkansas and the Committee on Insurance and Commercice for the Arkan-sas House of Representatives.

Walden M. Cash of Little Rock is a 2011 graduate of the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law. He earned his bachelor’s degree in his-tory from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. While in law school, he served as as-sociate editor for the UALR Law Review and research assistant for Professor Philip Oliver. Cash wrote case abstracts for the Arkansas Real Estate Review and served as a mentor for the Academic Success Program. He com-pleted a clerkship with the Cash Law Firm and would like to practice domestic rela-tions, bankruptcy, and criminal law.

Mariah L. Cole is a 2011 UALR William H. Bowen School of Law gradu-ate from Ox-ford, Miss. She is a cum laude graduate of The University of Mississippi with a bach-elor’s degree in English.

While in law school, Cole was a member of Moot Court Board and Judge Henry Woods American Inn of Court and vice president of the Black Law Students Association. Cole interned with the Mississippi Center for Justice in Jackson, Miss., and clerked for the ACLU of Arkansas. She served as a research assistant for Professor June Stewart and externed with Federal Public Defender for the Eastern District of Arkansas. Cole would like to practice criminal law.

Joshua R. Collums of Paris, Tenn., is a 2011 UALR William H. Bowen School of Law graduate. He earned his bachelor’s degree in po-litical science at Murray State University. While at Bow-en, Collums earned Top Paper awards in Evidence, Criminal Proce-dure Post-Trial, Commercial Paper, Criminal Procedure Sentencing, and Business Associations. He completed an externship with Justice Paul E. Danielson of the Arkansas Supreme Court; a clerkship with Gill, Elrod, Ragon, Owen & Sherman; and served as a research assistant for Professor June Stewart. Col-lums earned the Wright, Lindsey & Jennings Academic Scholarship and would like to specialize in criminal appeals and post-conviction relief.

Kristin Coston of Bryant is a 2011 graduate of the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law. She earned bach-elor’s degrees in psychology and criminal justice from UALR. While at Bowen, Coston was a senator for the Student Bar Associa-tion, completed an externship with the ACLU, and worked in the UALR Legal Clinic. After graduation, she would like to practice in the areas of public service, family, and civil liberties law.

Amber Davis-Tanner of Grapevine is a 2011 graduate of the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law. She earned her bachelor’s degree in history from Hendrix College. While at Bowen, she was executive editor of the UALR Law Review, where she had the article “Affirmative Acts and Antitrust -- The Need for a Consistent Tolling Stan-dard in Cases of Fraudulent Concealment” published. While she was a member of the Moot Court Board, Davis-Tanner was award-ed Third Place Best Brief at the McGee Civil Rights Competition and competed in the octofinal round at the McGee competition and at the Wechsler First Amendment Com-petition. She completed externships with Quattlebaum, Grooms, Tull and Burrow; Williams and Anderson; Friday, Eldredge and Clark; Cross, Gunter, Witherspoon and Galchus; Wright, Lindsey and Jennings; Anderson, Murphy and Hopkins; Justice Annabelle Imber Tuck; and Justice Ronald Sheffield. Davis-Tanner would like to pursue a career in civil litigation.

Akins Doherty of Atlanta is a 2011 graduate of the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law. He earned his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Columbus State Univer-sity. While at

Bowen, Doherty was a member of the UALR School of Law Moot Court Board and was a finalist in the Ben J. Altheimer Moot Court Tournament. He is a member of the Judge William R. Overton American Inn of Court, Delta Theta Phi Law School Fraternity, the Black Law Students Association, and the Intellectual Property Law Society. Doherty completed an externship with the Arkan-sas Oil and Gas Commission and was a law clerk with the Law Offices of Gary Green. He would like to practice patent, trademark, and copyright law.

Jana Kristen Eager of Little Rock is a 2011 graduate of the UALR Wil-liam H. Bowen School of Law. She is a magna cum laude graduate of Tu-lane University with bachelor’s degrees in finance and management. While at Bowen, she was associate notes editor for the UALR Law Review and a member of the trial team. Ea-ger also won the William H. Bowen Scholar Award and was the Janet D. Steiger Fellow for the Arkansas Office of the Attorney Gen-eral. She clerked for Williams and Ander-son, PLC; Wright, Lindsey & Jennings, LLP; Mitchell, Williams, Selig, Gates & Woodyard,

PLLC; and Friday, Eldredge, & Clark, LLP; and completed an externship with Justice Jim Gunter. Eager would like to pursue a career in litigation.

Brianne Meeker Franks of Jonesboro is a 2011 gradu-ate of the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psy-chology from Brigham Young University in

Idaho. While in law school, Franks served as president of the J. Reuben Clark Law So-ciety, received a non-resident scholarship, and published an article in the Arkansas Real Estate Review. In addition, she externed for Judge James Moody of the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Arkansas; interned for Judge Karen Baker of the Arkansas Court of Appeals; and volunteered for the Center for Arkansas Legal Services.

A native of Abbeville, La., Nicholas Paul Gastal is a 2011 graduate of the UALR Wil-liam H. Bowen School of Law. He earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from Louisiana State University. While at Bowen, Gastal was a member of the Trial Competition Team, the Moot Court Board, and Judge Henry Woods American Inn of Court. He completed clerkships with Davidson, Meaux, Sonnier, and McElligott; the Arkansas Securities Department; and the David Hodges Law Office, as well as

externships with the Arkansas Oil and Gas Commission and the Committee on the Judiciary for the Arkansas House of Repre-sentatives. After graduation, Gastal would like to practice business law and litigation.

Daniel R. Haney of Arkadelphia is a 2011 graduate of the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law. He received his bachelor’s degree in English and political science at Lyon College. While at Bowen, Haney clerked with the Arkansas Electric Coop-erative; Cross, Gunter, Witherspoon, and Galchus; and Southwest Power Pool. He was articles editor for the UALR Law Review, research assistant for Professor Philip Oliver, and has forthcoming student note in the UALR Law Review, “Disability Law - Ameri-cans with Disabilities Act of 1990 - Title II and Title III and the Expansion of Caption-ing for the Deaf: From Televisions and Movie Theaters to Stadiums and Arenas?” Haney is interested in practicing intel-lectual property, disability law, or a legal practice that focuses specifically on helping deaf clients because of his fluency in sign language.

A native of Mountain View, John Tyler Henderson is a 2011 graduate of the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law. He earned his bachelor’s degree in public administra-tion from the University of Central Arkan-sas. While in law school, Henderson earned Top Paper honors in Law and Medicine and completed a clerkship with Judge Karen Baker of the Arkansas Court of Appeals. He is interested in practicing in the areas of general litigation, family law, criminal de-fense, estate planning, environmental law, disability law, or administrative law.

Otis J. Hogan of Stuttgart is a 2011 graduate of the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law. He earned his bachelor’s degree with distinction in criminol-ogy from the University of

Hawaii. He currently works as an investiga-tor with the Arkansas Motor Vehicle Com-mission.

A native of Fouke, Ashley Camille Henson is a 2011 graduate of the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law. She is a cum laude graduate of the University of Alabama with a bachelor’s degree in political science. Henson was social chair for the Student Bar Associa-tion, secretary for the Bowen Young Repub-licans, and a member of the Christian Legal Society, the Judge Henry Woods American Inn of Court, the Arkansas Association of Women Lawyers, and Phi Alpha Delta. She also won the Top Paper award in Lawyering Skills Workshop: Transactions, completed an externship with Judge Rhonda Wood, 5th Division Circuit Judge, and clerked for the Law Offices of Cullen & Company, Monterrey & Tellez Law Firm, and HealthSCOPE Benefits, Inc.

Devon Holder of El Dorado is a 2011 honor graduate of the UALR Wil-liam H. Bowen School of Law. He received her bachelor’s degree in anthropology from Hendrix College. While at Bowen, Holder was a member of the UALR Law Review, completed an externship with Justice Jim Gunter, and clerked for Jack, Nelson, Jones, Jiles & Gregory. He is interested in civil litigation.

Robyn E. Horn of Camden is a 2011 gradu-ate of the UALR William H. Bowen School

of Law. She earned her bachelor’s de-gree in physical therapy at the University of Central Arkan-sas. While at Bowen, Horn was research editor for the UALR Law Review and received Top Paper awards

in Rhetoric, Writing, and Analysis I and Employee Benefits. She published works in the UALR Law Review, the Arkansas Real Estate Law Review, and the Arkansas Probate and Trust Law Review. Horn also completed an externship with the Federal Public De-fender and a clerkship with the Law Offices of James M. Pratt, Jr. She is interested in a practice focused on health law and medi-cal malpractice, estate planning and elder law, alternative dispute resolution, or public service.

Mariah L. Hornok of Rio Rancho, N.M., is a 2011 UALR William H. Bowen School of Law graduate. She earned her bachelor’s degree in family and human services from John Brown University. While in law school, Hornok won Top Paper in Administrative Law and Criminal Procedure Post-Trial and was a member of the Hispanic Law Stu-dents Association, the Arkansas Association of Women Lawyers, the Christian Legal Society and Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity. She also was a visiting student at the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University and completed clerkships with the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Arkansas and the City of Taylorsville Prosecutor’s Office in Taylors-ville, Utah. Hornok would like to practice in the areas of criminal or administrative law or in the public sector.

A 2011 high honors graduate of the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law, Clark Jen-nings was a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Arkansas – Fayetteville with a bach-elor’s degree in business administration with a focus on marketing management. He was as-sistant man-aging editor for the UALR Law Review and his note, “Shield or Spotlight? The First Amendment’s Application to Petitioners and Disclosure Requirements in the Citizen Lawmaking Process” will be published in the UALR Law Review. While in law school, Jennings was also a member of the Nation-al Trial Competition Team and advanced to the semifinals of regional tournament. He was a student member in the Judge Henry Woods American Inn of Court and earned Top Paper awards in Reasoning, Writing & Advocacy I, Legal Research I, Civil

Procedure I, Law & Literature, Introduc-tion to International Law, Advanced Torts, and Products Liabilities. He completed clerkships with Quattlebaum, Grooms, Tull & Burrow PLLC; Friday, Eldredge & Clark LLP; Williams & Anderson PLC; and Wright, Lindsey & Jennings LLP. Jennings intends to focus on a litigation and trial practice based in Little Rock.

A 2011 graduate of the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law, Tabatha Rae Johnson of East Prairie, Mo., received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education with an emphasis in science education from South-east Missouri State Univer-sity. While in law school, she was a justice in Phi Alpha Delta and earned the Dean’s Certifi-cate of Service and two Dean’s Distinguished Certificates of Service. John-son clerked for the Missouri State Public Defender System; Cross, Gunter, Witherspoon, and Galchus; and Judge Barry Sims of the Pulaski County Circuit Court. She was a Rule 13 law clerk for the Missouri State Public Defender System and a Rule XV clerk for the Pulaski County Public Defender. After graduation, Johnson would like to practice in the areas of criminal defense, estate planning, and family law.

A graduate of Howard University with a degree in accounting, Rhonda Jones, MBA, is a 2011 graduate of the UALR Wil-liam H. Bowen School of Law. She earned Top Paper hon-ors in Lawyer-

ing Skills Workshop – Transactional and was national treasurer for the National Black Law Students Association and a Council on Legal Education Opportunity Scholar. Jones completed clerkships with Southwest Power Pool, the Office of the Attorney Gen-eral, and the AARP - Legal Counsel for the Elderly; she was also a Rule XV student in the Domestic Relations Litigation Clinic. The native of Galveston, Texas, and Washington, D.C., has an interest in administrative law, energy law, banking, bankruptcy, corporate transactional law, and family law.

A native of Milwaukee, Wis., Sarra Mae Kiaie is a 2011 graduate of the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law. She earned bach-elor’s degrees in political sci-ence, women’s studies, Span-ish, and art and design from Purdue Uni-versity. Kiaie earned the Top Paper award in Employment Discrimina-tion and was a member of the Moot Court Board. In addition, she was clerk for the Phi Alpha Delta Legal Fraternity. Kiaie served as research assistant for Professor Sarah How-ard Hobbs; clerk for Cullen & Co., PLLC; in-tern for Judge Rudolph Randa of the United

States District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin; clerk for the Arkansas Attor-ney General; and extern for the Arkansas Federal Public Defender. After graduation, she would like to practice criminal defense or employment discrimination law.

Christopher T. Kidd is a 2011 UALR William H. Bowen School of Law graduate from DeWitt. He received his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Arkansas State University. Among Kidd’s law school honors are Top Paper in Decedents Estates, Student Bar Association 2L full-time senator, and student vice-president for the Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association. Kate A. Lachowsky of Paso Robles, Calif., is a 2011 graduate of the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law. She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology with minors in business administration and chemistry from Sonoma State Univer-sity. Lachowsky was an octo-finalist at the John Marshall Law School International Moot Court Competition in IT and Privacy Law in Chicago, a finalist in the 2009 Ben J. Altheimer Moot Court Tournament, and a recipient of the Dean’s Certificate of Service. She was a student member of the Judge William R. Overton American Inn of Court and earned the Top Paper award in Critical Race Theory. In addition, she completed an externship with Judge Rita Gruber at the Arkansas Court of Appeals and a clerkship with the Law Office of David Williams, PLLC. After graduation, Lachowsky would like to practice in the areas of medical malpractice, employment law, and appellate advocacy.

Kelly Lavin, originally of Rochester, N.Y., is a 2011 UALR William H. Bowen School of Law gradu-ate. She earned her bachelor’s degree in political sci-ence from the University of North Texas.

Lavin served as Arkansas Association of Women Lawyers treasurer and captain for the school’s Race for the Cure team and completed an externship with the Ameri-can Civil Liberties Union in 2010. She is interested in practicing law in the govern-ment or nonprofit sectors.

A graduate of Tatung University with a degree in industrial design, Wei-Ching Liao of Taiwan is a 2011 graduate of the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law. In Tai-wan, he served as a second lieutenant in the military police. While at Bowen, he won the Top Paper award in Immigration law, earned a Merit Scholar-ship and Non-resident Scholarship, and was a member of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association. Liao served as an intern with the Law Office of Peter L. Quan in New York City and a Mandarin-English interpreter in the Bureau of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. He is interested in practicing immigration law, intellectual property law, real estate law, and business law.

Jennifer Liwo is a 2011 UALR William H. Bowen School of Law graduate who earned her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice at the University of Alabama-Birmingham. While at Bowen, she received non-resident and merit scholarships and earned the Top Paper award in Criminal Procedure Pre-Trial. She would like to practice criminal defense, domestic relations, immigration law, or general litigation. Liwo completed externships with the Civil Department of the Attorney General’s Office, the Public Defender’s Office of Pulaski County, and the Laser Law Firm.

Aimie Lockwood of North Little Rock is a 2011 UALR William H. Bowen School of Law graduate. She received her bachelor’s de-gree in art from Morehead State Univer-sity. While at Bowen, she served as president of the Student Bar Association and parliamen-tarian of the Black Law Stu-dents Association. Lockwood also served as student representative to the Arkansas Bar Association.

A cum laude graduate of Campbell University with a degree in business administra-tion, Elizabeth M. Manso is a 2011 graduate of the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law. While in law school, she was an honor justice, president of the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association, and a member of the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund and the Arkansas Association of Women Lawyers. Manso completed an extern-ship with Judge M. Michael Kinard of the Arkansas Court of Appeals, a clerkship with the David Hodges Law Firm, and was a Rule XV certified law clerk for Arkansas Attorney Ad Litem Program. She was also a member of the Bowen Immigration Rapid Response Team and participated in the school’s Tax Clinic.

Heather Martin-Herron of Little Rock is a 2011 graduate of the UALR William H. Bow-en School of Law. She earned her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the Univer-

sity of Arkansas at Little Rock. Martin-Herron earned the Dean’s Certifi-cate of Service Award and was a member of the Bowen Moot Court Board, where she earned both Top Paper and Best Respondent’s

Brief. She clerked for Judge D. Price Mar-shall of the Arkansas Court of Appeals and completed an externship with Jack, Nelson,

Jones, Jiles & Gregory. Martin-Herron would like to practice in the areas of litiga-tion, civil defense, and criminal defense.

A 2011 graduate of the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law, Clayton McCall of Russellville earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Harding University. While at Bowen, he was a member of Phi Alpha Delta and the Christian Legal Society and served as an American Col-legiate Moot Court Justice. McCall com-pleted extern-ships with the Jack Nelson Jones Law Firm and the Peel Law Firm.

A native of Overland Park, Kan., James M. McPherson is a 2011 graduate of the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law. He earned his bachelor’s degree in politics from Hendrix College. McPherson antici-pates graduating from Bowen with honors. In law school, he won a Top Paper award in Federal Income Taxation, completed a

clerkship with Kutak Rock, and was as-sociate notes editor with the UALR Law Re-view. McPher-son would like to practice property law and corporate transactions after gradua-tion.

Lisa M. Med-ford of Little Rock is a 2011 graduate of the UALR Wil-liam H. Bowen School of Law. She earned her bachelor’s degree in soci-ology from the University of Arkansas – Fay-etteville. While

in law school, Medford published “Use of Artificial Reproductive Technologies After the Death of a Parent” in the UALR Law Re-view and was associate notes editor for the review. In addition, she published works in the Arkansas Real Estate Review and the Arkansas Probate and Trust Law Review. She won Top Paper awards in Employment Law and Lawyering Skills and was a member of the Judge Henry Woods American Inn of Court, Phi Alpha Delta, and the Arkansas Association of Women Lawyers. Medford completed an externship at Arkansas Public Defender Commission and a clerkship with the Law Offices of William F. Sherman.

Hannah C. Miller of Melbourne is a 2011 graduate of the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law. She earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Arkansas State University. While in law school, Miller earned Top Pa-per awards in Legal Research I; Criminal Law; Reasoning, Writing, and Advocacy II; Evidence; and Federal Income Taxation. She was also a research as-sistant for professors Michael Flannery and June Stewart.

Smrithi Mohan of Basking Ridge, N.J., is a 2011 graduate of the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law. While in law school, she was confer-ence chair for the National Asian Pacific American Law Student Association, was voted NAPALSA Board Member of the Year for 2010, and received a BarBri scholarship award. Mohan was treasurer, webmaster, and president of Bowen Asian Pacific American Law Stu-dents Association. In addition, she earned the Dean’s Certificate of Distinguished Service, was a member of the Student Bar Association, the Out-of-State Student Asso-ciation, Street Law, the Intellectual Property Society, the International Law Society, and the Arkansas Association of Women Law-yers. Mohan interned with Daun DeVore & Associates, was a research assistant for Professor Francis Fendler, clerked with the Chander Law Firm, and was a participant in the Art Law Practicum at Brooklyn Law School. Marie Curie Nguyen of Duluth, Ga., is a 2011 gradu-ate of the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law. She earned her bachelor’s degree in po-litical science from Georgia State Univer-

sity. While in law school, Nguyen earned the Top Paper award in Civil Procedure I, received the C.R. Warner Scholarship and a Merit Scholarship, and served as a student assistant in the Career Services Office. She was secretary for the National Asian Pacific American Law Student Association, presi-dent for Pulaski County Bar Association Student Division, secretary for the school’s Asian Pacific American Law Student Asso-ciation, and a 2L Senator in the Student Bar Association. Chanley Painter of Little Rock is a 2011 graduate of the UALR Wil-liam H. Bowen School of Law. She gradu-ated summa cum laude as a Presidential Scholar from the Univer-sity of Central Arkansas with a degree in political science and departmental honors. Painter served as symposium editor for the UALR Law Review and as a member of the traveling Trial Competition Team. She earned Top Paper awards in Reasoning, Writing, and Advoca-cy; Family Law; and Mass Violence courses and has worked with the Arkansas Access to Justice Commission, Heifer International, and Bridge2Rwanda. Painter is also a con-current degree graduate with the Clinton School of Public Service, earning her Master of Public Service degree while attending law school.

Tiffany Parker is a 2011 gradu-ate of the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law from Hampton. She earned her undergradu-ate degree in accounting from Southern Arkansas Uni-versity. While at

Bowen, Parker was an Academic Success Pro-gram Mentor, research assistant for Professor Philip Oliver, a member of the Christian Legal Society leadership team, and won Top Paper in State and Local Tax. She also completed a clerkship with Hyden, Miron & Foster, PLLC. Parker would like to practice tax law, corpo-rate law, and estate planning.

Stephen Rauls of Little Rock is a 2011 gradu-ate of the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law. He earned his bachelor’s de-gree in history from Hendrix College. Rauls was associ-ate editor for

A graduate of the University of the Ozarks with a degree in English, Michelle Simpson of Benton is a 2011 graduate of the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law. She won Top Paper awards in Crim-inal Procedure-Pretrial and Lawyering Skills I. Simp-son was pupil in the Judge Henry Woods American Inn of Court and a mem-ber of Delta Theta Phi. She completed an externship with the Arkansas Contractors Licensing Board and clerkships with the Civil and Public Protection departments in the Arkansas Attorney General’s Office and Windstream Communications.

A 2011 graduate of the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law, Rashida Isabelle Sims is a native of Brooklyn, N.Y. and received her bachelor’s degree in sociology from Hampton University. A native of Rogers, Allison Slinkard is a 2011 graduate of the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law. She earned her bachelor’s degree in communication studies from Ar-kansas State University. While in law school, she was a member of the Moot Court Board and clerked with the Arkansas Municipal League. After graduation, Slinkard would like to practice family law or juvenile law.

Thomas E. Smith of Benton is a 2011 gradu-ate of the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business finance from Henderson State Uni-versity. While in law school, Smith was awarded the Wilson and As-sociates Legal Ethics Scholar-ship for writing the top paper in Legal Profes-sion. He also wrote abstracts for the Arkan-sas Real Estate Review and the Arkansas Probate Review and worked in the Bowen Tax Clinic. Smith is interested in pursuing a career in commercial and civil litigation and Constitutional law.

Jeffrey M. Swann of Hillcrest is a 2011 UALR William H. Bowen School of Law gradu-ate. He received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Univer-sity of Mississippi. While at Bowen, Swann was president of Intellectual Property Law Society, a member of the Student Bar Association’s Community Outreach Oppor-tunity League, and won Top Paper for his final memorandum in Rhetoric, Writing, and Analysis I. He completed an externship for United States Magistrate Judge Beth Deere and wants a career in litigation.

Christopher Alan Tolleson of Conway is a 2011 graduate of the UALR William H. Bow-en School of Law. He earned his bachelor’s degree in or-ganizational management from Central Baptist College. Tolleson was president of the student chapter of the Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association, a member of Delta Theta Phi legal fraternity, and a member of the Christian Legal Society.
