Foundation Degrees combine academic study with work-place learning and are the equivalent of 2 thirds of a BA or BSc Degree. Thisnationallyrecognisedqualificationissuitableforanyoneworkingorwantingtoworkto improve the mental health and psychological well-being of people and to work with their families and carers in a range of health and social care settings.The Foundation Degree develops knowledge and skills that employers are looking for across the spectrumofmentalhealthservices.Itisarecognisedqualification,thatcontributestopersonal and career development and has been developed with local and regional employers. The course has a strong vocational focus and prepares you for work to support and promote mental health and well-being in health and social care, both statutory and non-statutory.

DurationThe taught component of the course will normally be delivered one or two days a week across twosemestersperyearfortwoyears.Asignificantcomponentofthecoursemustbemade up of work-based learning. This Foundation Degree is designed to promote the personal, professional and academic development of all those working or volunteering in a learning and or teaching support role in educational settings. The programme is suitable for those working with children and young people in the three to nineteen age range, including those with additional needs.
