Week 7 is an exciting week with many educational activities happening. Congratulations to all year 5 students who made a speech today at our special assembly in hope of becoming a 2015 school leader. All students demonstrated pride in themselves and our school. It was great to see so many Grandparents at our school last week for Grandparents day. Early Stage 1/P&C News

Miss Budd Thank you to all the grandparents

who came and visited KB in the

classroom last Thursday. We enjoyed

making the tic toc tea cups and we

hope you enjoyed eating them. In

Maths we have been looking at

patterns. We are becoming very

confident at counting by 2’s, 5’s and

..10’s and knowing our doubles.

Miss Heaney KH had a wonderful session with lots of Grandparents that visted last Thursday, thankyou for those who came. We learnt a range of different brush techniques last week in art and used these skills in our work. This week we are focusing on ensuring our letter formation is correct and counting on and back in maths.Have a wonderful week

Early Stage 1 AP – Miss Budd Infants assembly is on this Thursday. KB will be performing an item. It would be wonderful to see lots of parents there supporting the students. This Friday is the P&C Fete. There are a lot of exciting stalls and yummy food. I hope everyone comes along and has some fun. Have a funfilled week.

Miss Bartley 1N had a wonderful time with our grandparents last week, thank oyu to everyone who visited our classroom and students. In Technology 1N have been learning about typing using notepad on Ipads and Ipods. In English we have been writing about Edwina the dinosaur and how shes not extinct.

Miss McKechnie A big thank you to all of the grandparents who came to visit our classroom and helped us with our craft on Thursday! This week in Literacy we are learning to use tense in our writing and are developing our editing skills. In Maths we are learning to count off the decade and write 3 digit numbers. Please remember to wear your hat to school each day to protect you from the sun. Have a great week everyone!

Miss Duiz Thank you to all the grandparents and parents who came in and visited our classroom last Thursday. This week in Literacy we are writing persuasive texts. In Maths we are looking at time. Remember, if you would like your child to do intensive swimming in week 9, please return your note and money ASAP.

Miss Mowbray Welcome to Week 7! 2M Literacy have been extremely busy with their poetry writing, which they will continue with this week. 2M Numeracy will be focusing on addition and subtraction in detail this week. 2M attendance has been improving each week, well done keep it up, it is great to see you at school on time! Don’t forget about swimming for sport on Friday! Bring your swimmers, towel and 50c. As it gets warmer remember to wear sunscreen to school and bring your hat everyday! Have a great week!

This week 2G are eagerly awaiting an email from their penpals in Glasgow, Scotland. They cannot wait to learn about their community and in return tell their penpals all about Australia. Welcome to week 7. Last week 2B had lots of fun with our Grandparents for Grandparent’s Day. This week, 2B students are really excited to finally speak to our penpals who live in Ohio, USA to learn about their community. 2B have been trying super hard with their attendance, so keep it up. Stage 2 AP – Mrs Gaukroger There were some excellent poetry recitals last week. Some students had completed a lot of practice enabling them to give very strong performances. This week we will continue with our author studies. In Numeracy we will be looking at volume and capacity. Primary students who are participating in Intensive swimming need to bring their swimmers, towel, drink

bottle and sunscreen in a bag each day. Have a great week!

Miss Dorrington This week we are evaluating the bridges we built during Grandparents Day. The students observed various bridges for ideas then constructed their own inventions. We will test these by applying various weights to see which one is more successful. In English we will be composing our own legends with attention to punctuation and descriptive language. In maths we will be learning new tens games to improve our numeracy skills.

Mr Porter Congratulations to everybody that participated in last weeks assembly item. Please remember we are still working towards our attendance goal jackpot for this term. We need 3 days of 100 percent in a row in our class to achieve this. We have a great week with swimming, art projects and lots more.

In Literacy this week we will be reading, and attempting to write some poetry; we had great fun last week working collaboratively on Limericks! (We also found Limerick on the map in Ireland!) What a huge week this week is! Today our year 5 students did a fantastic job presenting their speeches for captains and prefects. Also this afternoon Year 6 have received their Year 6 shirts. They look awesome! Tomorrow night Year 6 are having their Farewell startingat 6 oclock. Year 5 are invited to the dance from 8-9pm! We are all excited and it should be a fantastic night!
