The CSALOMON® TAL trap (modified pitfall) baited with thesynthetic attractant can capture high numbers of sugarbeetweevils

The TAL trap can easily be set up at the soil surface (no diggingnecessary), and is held in place against strong winds by placingsome pieces of soil at the crawl-up ramps.

Weevils caughtcan easily beremoved fromthe TAL trap.

TAL traps baited with the attractantappear to detect earlier the presence ofweevils in early spring, and offer morereliable monitoring of populationchanges than conventional surveymethods.

The bait dispenserretains attractive powereven after 2 months offield exposure – so thesame bait can be usedfrom March to July.

Traps baited with the attractant when set up in a grid at densities of10 to 30 trap/ha appear capable of ”mass trapping” a sizeableportion of the sugarbeet weevils on the plot, thereby directlyreducing the pest population and decreasing damages.
