ABOUT ALGERIAAlgeria is the largest country in Africa and posses a desert, mountains and beaches.

With incredible seaside, Algiers, the capital of Algeria, has a lot more to offer such as architecture and amazing monuments.

620 feets (190 meters) above the sea, you will f ind Blida. There, you can visit a lot of gardens and is where the Barbary Macaque (an endangered specie of monkey) call home.

Constantine is known by its amount of bridges. Needless to say that the locals call it The City of Bridges. Adventure yourself to cross them and take breathless and priceless pictures.

Oran is well provided with marvelous architecture. Find out what it holds and get lost in its cinemas, theaters, museums, gardens and much more.

ACCOMMODATION

By exiting the arrival area of the airport, you are going to f ind someone with an AIESEC sign and your name (regardless the town you are arriving).

The ideal hours for your f l ight to land in Algeria are (depending with which LC you are coming with):

- Babez: Tuesdays and Saturdays, all day;

- Benak: Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, all day;

- Blida: Fridays and Saturdays, from 9AM til l 5PM;

-Constantine: Fridays and Saturdays, all day;

-Oran: Fridays, Saturdays and Sunday, all day.

We give you some options of places that you can stay during your staying in Algeria:

- Family Host;

- Hostel.

(Regarding accommodation: we would like to remind you that AIESEC is not obligated to f ind the perfect place for you. Nevertheless, AIESEC will assit you in whatever you need.)

Some Algerians stil l speak in pennies and forget to remove two zeros in the quoted price. If a seller says ?30000? when you checkout, he means 300 DZD.

It is possible to change the currency on arrival at exchange off ices of airports, also the reception of major hotels and ports.

Some institutions accept payment in Euro. Be careful Algerian banks do not accept travelers checks. International credit cards are far from being widely accepted. They can be used in large hotels, car rental agencies, some restaurants and a few shops downtown Algiers.

For shopping, there must be some cash which is the most widely used payment method in Algeria.

The price of one bus ticket is 10 centimes (with 1 euro you can come and go 10 times).

The taxi fare price goes from 50 centimes (half an euro) to 500 DZD (5 euros).

WHAT TO DO HERETassil N'Ajjer: Adventure yourself in this desert's caves and have a close look at the beginning of

writ ing and human history and be astonished by its beauty.

Notre Dame D'Afrique: Located up in a hil l in the capital of Algeria, Algiers, this outstanding 19th century Roman Catholic Church watch over the city

and is a combination between Roman and Byzantine style.

M'zab: In the middle of M'zab Valley you can f ind this beautiful city built in

the 10th century by Ibadites and it 's architecture is perfectly adapted to the enviroment.

Jardin D'Essai Du Hamma: In all it 's glory and dif ferent spaces visitors can enter, this magestic park is also near the beach. Working hours: from November til l February, from 10AM to 5PM; March and April and September and October, from 10AM til l 6PM; from May til l August, from 10AM til l 7PM. Entrance fee: 30DZD for kids and 60DZD for adults.

Beni Hammad Fort: The magestic mountains hold the ruins of a Muslim city of 1007. Adventure yourself in it 's beauty.

Maqam Echahid: This outstanding monument celebrates the Algerian f ight for independence.

Bardo National Museum Of Prehistory and Ethnography: Algiers' best museum with a superb display of fossils from the Sahara. Working hours: from Sunday til l Thursday, from 9AM til l 12PM.

Ketchaoua Mosque: Changing your face over the years from Mosque to Church and back again to Mosque, has become the number one sight in Algiers.

El Kala National Park: In the borders between Algeria and Tunisia you can f ind this magnif icent park and all it 's diversity.

Atlas Mountain: If you enjoy adventure, this trip is for you. Discover the beauty hidden in this outstanding mountains and take breathtaking pictures of its views.

Gouraya National Park: Find yourself in this coastal park features such as mountains and clean beaches. See endangered species at f irst hand and be amazed by its beauty.

Great Mosque of Algiers: It 's superb Almoravid architecture (one of the last remaining in North Africa), calls attention by far and it 's beauty takes your breath away.

Great Mosque of Tlemcen: This incredible Mosque was built in 1082 and remains intact in the city of Tlemcen. Its a monument of the Almoravid's Dynasty and the History that shapes Algeria.

National Gallery of Fine Arts: This museum displays an impressive collection of paintings, prints and sculptures by both Algerian and international artists.

National Museum of Antiquities: Inside this outstanding and breathtaking piece of architechture, you can f ind the History of Algeria and how the development of the country happened.

National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Arts: This museum was crucial to reestablish the artistic community in Algeria. It 's architecture is also breathtaking and the visitor f ind the expositions pretty amuzing.

The Ahmed Zabana National Museum: Located in Oran, this museum displays the tumultuous life in the region back in the days where activists fought for the Independence of the country.
