FOREIGNER UNAUTHORIZED was formed in early 2012 in Fresno California after a chance meeting between guitarist De Vivo (Moon Walker) and bassist Jim Belt.
Since its inception, the band quickly created a large, loyal, and growing fan base in the California music scene garnering buzz for their ability to reproduce to perfection the sounds of the phenomenal band Foreigner that helped shaped Rock music in the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s with captivating high-energy live performances.
This group is one of the top Foreigner tribute bands in the U.S delivering incredible vocals, incredible sound and an incredible show.
Each musician is committed to providing as true a sound to the original Foreigner band as possible, and the result is an experience that takes listeners back to times they cherish, while introducing a new generation to music they can love. Their commitment to perfection delivers music that is technically perfect, soulful and memorable.
In the end, what separates good bands from great bands is passion. This six musicians have always been passionate about music, each took a different path in developing their talents and arriving at where they are today and like great tribute bands are dedicated to the music of the band they are covering.
There’s lots of self-reflection and a continual dedication to the music. The work of the band in covering the Foreigner songbook is in itself a tribute to the music and a commitment to listeners to have a fantastic experience hearing the group.
The band delivers in music, vocals, showmanship and especially in passion. The performances are filled with energy and soul, whether it’s the driving beat of “Hot Blooded” or the tender ballad “I want to know what love is.”
Lots of audience dancing and singing-along is standard fare at any of our shows. The musical experience is excellent for everyone. Those who book us appreciate our professionalism and promptness, and those who attend our concerts savor memories and appreciate the music of Foreigner all over again.

Michael Nagy / Lead VocalsVocalist Michael Nagy has entertained audiences throughout California, Nevada, Arizona and New York. Michael has shared the stage with some of the greatest names in Rock music such as Carl Anderson (Jesus Christ Superstar) Sammy Hagar, Tony Franklin ( The Firm) Billy Sheehan ( Mr. Big) Frank Hannon (Tesla). Recorder vocal tracks for former drummer of the legendary group Scorpions Herman Rarebell titled “And speaking of Scorpions” also recorder with Paul Taylor (Alice Cooper, Winger) and with the group Scanner and November 67. Michael has an amazing vocal range and electrifying stage presence. He is one of the elite few that can reproduce the tonality and range of Lou Gramm.
Max DeVivo / Lead Guitar / VocalsMax is a very talented musician started playing Guitar, Bass, Drums and harmonica at the age of 12. Max is a native of Naples Italy during the mid 70’s toured in Europe with his group. In the late 70’s he move to the US and continued with his passion for music. He has been a member of several different bands in California did some studio work in the US and started a Jazz group “Gypsy Moon”. He has shared the stage in Jazz venues with greats like: Marc Antoine, Acoustic Alchemy, Peter White, Richard Elliot, George Benson, Jeff Golub, Huge Groove, Steve Oliver an many more. Founder and former member and lead guitarist of Midnight Run Journey tribute. Max worked as a studio musician for MCA records in Rome and rocked the air waves with his own radio show 91.5 FM RTSI Naples Italy.
Jim Belt / BassJim has been involved with numerous projects in his nearly 35 year musical career. In addition to touring with Christian rock band, Wishes Were Fishes for nearly 20 years, Jim has also done extensive studio work for various bands and solo acts in the Central Valley. Providing bass and guitar support to countless recordings. Jim has also extensive experience engineering & producing for independent artists. Jim is the master of the pocket his sense of timing and finesse brings the music experience to a higher level. He is also a very accomplished guitarist.
Brett Moglia / Keyboards / Sax / VocalsBrett Moglia has played music around the US and the world. He is a founding member of the popular dance band, The YARD DOGS. He was in the USMC Band Field and lead Show Bands at multiple duty stations. He plays all the low brass professionally and is an accomplished arranger. Fresno State and multiple Marine Corps Bands have his arrangements still in their libraries. As a primary sax player, he picked up keyboards along his early cover band travels and handles backup vocals. Brett has played music based out of Virginia Beach and New Orleans, as well as the Central Valley. He is now the Music Director for Minarets High School in the foothills and lives in North Fork. His musical studies include Fresno State and the Armed Forces School of Music.
Scott Nielsen / DrumsScott started playing in local bands at the age of 15, having to ask his parents’ permission to play at the old Olympic Tavern. He further developed his chops in the Hoover High School drum line under the instruction of Dave Glyde. Since then he has been playing in local bands and church groups for 30 years. Scott has recorded and gigged with many local artists, been a drum line instructor, taught private lessons, and is also an accomplished keyboard player. He is the perfect addition to the group, bringing musical knowledge and a deep pocket.
Rik Willmitch / Guitar / Synth / VocalsBorn and bred in the “Rust Belt” of Northeastern Ohio, Rik grew up around some of the industry’s finest. Centrally located between Cleveland, Akron and Pittsburgh Rik was exposed early to artists like Chrissie Hynde, Joe Walsh, Donnie Iris and Rick Derringer to name a few. While an engineer at Peppermint Records in Northeast Ohio, his musical talents were often recruited to perform on various recordings as well as arrange and sing lead and backing vocals, guitar and keyboard. Rik wrote and produced commercial jingles and arranged original compositions for solo artists and songwriters. In 1990 Rik hooked up with the Chicago Style Blues Band “Mars Needs Women” playing harmonica, Organ and Piano sharing the stage with the likes of Blues greats, “Fat Boy Slim” and “Bobby Blue Bland.”
