BECKER BULLETIN5 Points of Life Kids Marathon

Don’t forget, the 5 Points of Life Marathon is THIS weekend! This is an especially important event for many of our HLA families and staff. With so many lives being affected by illnesses requiring one of the 5 points, we at HLA, encourage you and your family to attend this exciting event. 

Race day is on Saturday, February 17, and registration for the Kids Marathon is $5.00 ($10.00 the day of the event). Each child who participates will receive a t-shirt and a medal upon completion of the 1.2 mile race. If you are interested in more of a challenge, the 5K is the same morning.

The Week In Review Miscellaneous

SS: Students are continuing to learn about colonial life in early America!ELA: This week, we focused on main idea, details, summarizing, and paraphrasing. Our prefix was “mal-.”Math: We are working our way through Ch. 7, studying patterns and expressions. Science: We’re still learning about weather, and just focused on the water cycle.

Word of the Week:Our word of the week was “love.” Love is one of the most important emotions that we have. Our lives go better when we are loved and when we love others. We all want to feel loved and nurtured, so make sure to spread that love so you can make someone else’s day!

Parent Involvement NightJoin us this Thursday, February 22, for Parent Involvement Night. This month, we will be discussing mindfulness.

If any parents would like to earn volunteer hours, please join us in cooking on the 22nd from 1:00-2:00.

Positive BehaviorStudents can earn extra recess every two weeks by demonstrating appropriate classroom behavior. If your child has not been chosen, encourage them to make good choices daily!

For Monday, students should neatly write and mark each of the following words with large, legible print on the index cards sent home today.
