Five churches destroyed

Individual parishes merged

• Hurricane Ike devastated the entire Island

• Catholic faith community torn apart

• Significant effects on mind, body and spirit

• Activity served to reunite the former parishes

• Integration between personal and professional

I do not believe that sheer suffering teaches. If suffering alone taught, all the world would be wise, since everyone suffers. To suffering must be added mourning, understanding, patience, love, openness and the willingness to remain vulnerable.
