Fun & Games

Come join in and enjoy the fun games scheduled weekly in Phase III! All games areheld in the first floor Family Room unless otherwise noted.

Mondays and Thursdays its time for the popular Marbles board game. Play begins at 1:00pm, but requires you to sign up as each board/game requires four players. Tuesdayfeatures the old chestnut card game Euchre at 1:00 pm; again 4 players are necessary; weare currently looking to add players to complete a second table. Wednesday at 1:00 pmcome join the group in a fierce Wii Bowling brawl and even get a chance to compete withthe folks at Coconut Point a few times a year.

Game instruction is also available for selectgames: Larry Horton teaches Euchre uponrequest and his spouse Kathleen teachesMahjong. Neva Shepherd is interested instarting a Canasta card group so pleasecontact her if you are interested.

4th of July Parade

Phase III was happy and proud to beasked to decorate one of AmericanHouses golf carts for the 2017 BonitaSprings 4th of July Parade. KathleenHorton and Judy Tryka led the effort andwere aided by; Judy Jones, Valerie Tantumand nephew Logan, Neva Shepherd,Barbara Jean Wardle, Barbara ElaineMeyer and Bob Burdess Sr.. Judy Burke,

from Life Enrichment purchased thesupplies necessary for the mainlyhomemade decorations which consistedof large tissue paper pom-poms, paperstar garland and firecrackers crafted frompool noodles. Our golf cart was joined bya golf cart decorated by American HouseBonita Springs AL (which was topped by aHUGE Uncle Sams hat) and our bus. Itwas lots of fun and we look forward to oursecond attempt in 2018.

In the Beginning.....................

At 10:00 am on November 28, 2016, NevaShepherd moved into American HouseBonita Springs Phase III thus becoming itsfirst resident.

Neva was born in Phillipsburg, Ohio and afterattending Beauty School married Jim, whoworked for the Prudential Life InsuranceCompany. She worked as a full-timebeautician for one year until the birth of herfirst daughter Bonnie, who currently lives in Kansas City. Neva also has two other children;Debbie, who lives in Bonita Springs and John, a writer who resides in Los Angeles.

After being widowed after 49 years of marriage, Neva remained in Ohio for five years andthen moved to Scottsdale, Arizona with a companion. She and Ken lived there for 14 yearsuntil his death at which point Neva moved to Florida. She had been living at Brookdale inNaples for three years before moving into Phase III.

Neva loves sports, especially golf, and enjoys a good game of cards. She especially enjoyseuchre and is currently looking for Canasta partners.
