    Notes

Technology improvements will be phased to stay current over time. Specific improvements include:

    1. Teacher and student laptops for supervised instructional use.2. LCD projectors, documents and sound(amplification) in classrooms

    3. Wireless access for all sites4. Mobile laptop carts (for sharing technology across classes)

    5. Learning Centers (updated libraries with addition al computers for student use) at elementaries, El Roble and CHS

    6. Upgrades of technology infrastructure

    (1) Multi-purpose rooms (MPR's) are used for music, standardized testing, any large-scale student assembly and daily meals.Improvements will include upgrades to accommodate technology, improve instructional use, add storage, and repair and update kitchens.

    (2) Includes storm drain repairs and updates, interior/exterior painting and exterior trim replacement. Also paving, parking, surfacing repair where needed for safety and access.

    (3) Includes restrooms, locker rooms, gyms and physical education or athletic facilities where inadequate safety fencing or lighting, age, outdated surfaces and facilities raise student health and safety concerns.

    (4) Install roof mounted solar panels at both CHS and El Roble. The panels will save an estimated $30,000 per year on heating costs.

    (5) Includes replacing 40+ inefficient, outdated portables as they age and exceed their useful life.

Includes updates to job training and vocational classrooms (El Roble/CHS), as well as labs and classrooms in the 500 Quad (at CHS) for science, art and other educational purposes.Includes modernization of 1960s-era student center for hands-on science labs, career and technnical classrooms, counseling, "one-stop" college and career guidance programs, space for homework groups

and clubs, and other student or instructional uses.

    (6) Heating, ventilation and air conditioning will be replaced as systems age, become inefficient and costly to repair and maintain. Improvements will include EMS (energy management systems) to reduce energy use.Other building systems such as modernization of a 1950s-era central kitchen at El Roble are included.

    (7) Install solar panels where cost-effective, including roofs and other new flat surfaces. Includes lunch shelters with solar panels on top at sites that currently lack shelters.Solar panels will save $85,000 - $100,000 in annual reduced electricity bills.

    (8) Retire existing leases and common operating debt.

    (9) All dollar amounts are approximate.
