'hile near death experiences ha!e always been linked to changes in a person(s attitude towards life and appreciating what they ha!e, an appreciation of music is di&erent but must be somehow connected. )owe!er, Tony Cicoria, e!en as an orthopedic surgeon, leaned towards the spiritual side as the reason for this musical dri!e. There is no *uestion that his life had changed, and not surprisingly considering he was looking down at his body for a couple minutes which is sure to change ones attitude. +e!ertheless, the similar circumstances in both these cases lead me and "li!er Sacks to belie!e there is a connection between the physicological inclinations and neural acti!ity in the brain.
