    General remarks

This brochure contains only the most popular brands of

B HLER WELDING CONSUMABLES. For specific applications

please contact your nearest B hler Supplier.

Details regarding the nature and application purpose of our pro-ductsare intended for the information of the user. The data

concerning the mechanical properties always refer to the all-weld-

metal deposit in accordance with the applicable standards. In the area

of the weld joint, the weld metal properties are influenced by the base

metal, the welding position and the welding parameters. A guarantee

of the suitability for a specific type of application requires in each indi-

vidual case an implicit agreement in writing.

Information is subjected to change without notice.

    CHARACTERISTICS AN DAPPLICATIONS

    Heavy rutile coated electrode giving

    fine performance in all

    positions except vertical down.

    Extremely smooth beads, easy

    slag removal; suitable for AC/DC

    and small transformers.

    Heavy rutile coated contact

    electrode engineered for fine

    performance in all positions

    including vertical down.

    Excellent striking and restriking

    characteristics, sound penetrati-

on, flat beads; popular with gene-

    ral fabricators.

    Medium thick rutile coated

    electrode designed to operate in

    all welding positions without the

    need to change current settings.

Very stable arc, good gap brid-

    ging ability, popular in shipbuil-

    ding.

    Medium thick rutile coated electrode.

    Most popular E 6013 type.

    All welding positions, AC/DC,

    also for small transformers, very

    good operating characteristics,

    flexible coating, good for tack

    welding, suitable for galvanized

    components.

    Heavy rutile basic coated electrode

offering fine performance in all posi-

    tions except vertical down; desi-

    gned to produce first class

    X-Ray quality welds, mainly in

    tube constructional work for root

    and filler passes.

    Heavy rutile basic coated electrode

offering fine performance in all posi-

    tions except vertical down; desi-

    gned to produce first class

    X-Ray quality welds, mainly in

    tube constructional work for

    root and filler passes. Impact

    strength down to - 20 C. Exceeds

the FOX SPE electrode in tensile

    strength due to the increased

    Mn-content of the deposit.

    Heavy rutile coated electrode giving

    fine performance in all

    positions except vertical down. Soft

    arc, well shaped beads,

    excellent restriking characte-

    ristics, easy slag removal.

    Medium coated all-position rutile

    electrode especially recommended

    for fillet welding in vertical-down

position. W elding jobs up to 6 mm

can be carried out in one run only.

    Basic coated stainless steel electrode.

Designed to produce first class weld

    deposits with reliable CVN tough-

    ness values down to - 90 C, 100 %

X-ray safety together with very good

    root pass and positional welding

characteristics, good gap bridgingability, easy weld pool and slag

control as well as easy slag removal

    even in narrow preparations resulting

in clean bead surfaces and minimum

    post weld cleaning. An excellent

    electrode for welding on site!

    Rutile coated stainless steel electrode.

An acknowledged world leader, noted for

    its superior welding characteristics and

metallurgy. Can be used on AC or DC.

    Other advantages include high current

    carrying capacity, minimum spatter forma-

tion, self releasing slag, smooth and

    clean

    weld profile, safety against forma-tion

    of

porosity due to moisture resistant coating

    and packaging into hermetically sealed

tins. Fully alloyed core wire ensures the

    most reliable corrosion resistance.
