The natural Australian Merino fibre has been specifically selected for its longer length and evenness to ensure that our products are of the highest quality, durability and softness.

The fibre created by Woolerina is incomparable to any other as it is grown from a selection of sheep that have been isolated genetically for over 150 years.

Our story began in the late 18th century, with the purchase of two Spanish Merinos in 1796 by Reverend Samuel Marsden. He was later given a further seven animals of the same bloodline by His Majesty King George III of England.

Marsden brought these sheep, with the “Paular” strain dominating to Australia in 1810. Since 1879 this genetic base has been completely separated from outside genetic influence and as a result is now a distinctive bloodline known as Egelabra.

BodyMate by Woolerina is a pure Australian Merino, machine washable product that is adaptable to all environments. It is especially practical in extreme cold & wet conditions including snow skiing, sailing, biking, mountaineering, horse riding & camping!

BodyMate can be worn “under or over” other clothing, making it extremely versatile and practical to wear. With its softness and comfort, BodyMate also comes in a wide range of colours and styles suitable for everyone.

NATuRAlThis natural fibre is renewable, sustainable and produced in an environmentally friendly way.

COMFORTThe low variation in fibre diameter and length, ensures comfort and no “prickle” or itch in the finished product.

duRABIlITyOur careful selection of fibres and our choice of knit construction ensure durability in all our garments. Our Merino fibre has greater elasticity than any other fibre, making it comfortable to wear, stretching with your every move.

PERFORMANCEBodyMate provides maximum heat retention and dispersion. Making you feel comfortable in a much wider range of temperatures. This property is essentially the result of the elastic, crimpy, serrated fibres forming small air spaces in the fabric. These pockets are the insulators.

OdOuRlESSSince the Fabric is an antimicrobial fibre, it has the ability to repel odours.

EASy CAREOur fibre is “super wash” treated so our products can be either laundered or dry cleaned. We recommend our products be washed on a gentle cycle using warm water and special wool detergents.

woolerina’s BaBymate ranGeBabyMate is the latest range to be added to the Woolerina collection of Pure Australian Merino garments.

The fabrics used in the BabyMate range are the same as those used in all Woolerina products, providing softness, machine washability and durability. The natural characteristics of Pure Australian Merino make it the ideal fabric for baby wear, providing natural/ breathability, moisture absorption, heat retention and dispersion capabilities.

The BabyMate Range comes in a number of styles and colours.

carinG For your GarmentsWe recommend our products be washed on a gentle cycle using warm water and special wool detergents. The products can of course be hand-washed. Please remember bleach will damage the garments. If the need arises hydrogen peroxide may be used as a bleach.

do not use mechanical dryers to dry your products. your BodyMate can be hung to dry. Heavier garments should be laid flat and allowed to dry slowly. It’s always good to air your products on a regular basis, particularly after use and before storage. use a steam iron and dampened cloth. Always store in a dry storage area after cleaning. Ensure the product is completely dry before storing.
