Transporting a wide range of vehicle payloads, including up to 3 main battle tanks, it will travel at a speed of 16+ knots - almost 80% faster than the 9 knot average attained by traditional craft in this class. Benefits include:  High rate of material flow;  Up to 200 tonnes of vehicle and personnel payload (the equivalent of 3 tanks or 8 multi-purpose  4-wheel drive trucks or 30 jeeps);  Safe and effective payload transfer via ‘active’  bow ramp (patent applied for);   Advanced seakeeping characteristics;  Global expeditionary capability;  Multiple role capabilities, ranging from  amphibious assault to humanitarian aid and  disaster relief. Innovative design features incorporated into Caimen-200 means that it has overcome some of the traditional challenges of landing craft design and has superior performance to other displacement monohull landing craft. These include its low resistance hullform and ‘active’ bow ramp which ensure an excellent balance of speed and beached stability. Key Features include:  Simplicity of design, facilitating an enduring and  flexible capability;  Robustness and durability through stringent attention to  structural detail and continuity;  Excellent damaged stability characteristics through strict  watertight subdivision;  Modular payload capability promoting a flexible and  adaptable amphibious asset;  Fully net centric capable combat system;  Utilisation of COTS equipment throughout,  reducing build and through life costs. Caimen-200

Caimen-200 is the blueprint for an innovative Landing

Craft Tank capable of carrying 200 tonnes of payload at

higher speeds than traditional landing craft of this size.

Transporting a wide range of vehicle payloads, including

up to 3 main battle tanks, it will travel at a speed of

16+ knots - almost 80% faster than the 9 knot average

attained by traditional craft in this class.

Benefits include:

• High rate of material flow;

• Up to 200 tonnes of vehicle and personnel payload

(the equivalent of 3 tanks or 8 multi-purpose

  4-wheel drive trucks or 30 jeeps);

• Safe and effective payload transfer via ‘active’

  bow ramp (patent applied for);

•  Advanced seakeeping characteristics;

• Global expeditionary capability;

• Multiple role capabilities, ranging from

  amphibious assault to humanitarian aid and

  disaster relief.

Innovative design features incorporated into Caimen-200

means that it has overcome some of the traditional challenges

of landing craft design and has superior performance to other

displacement monohull landing craft. These include its low

resistance hullform and ‘active’ bow ramp which ensure an

excellent balance of speed and beached stability.

Key Features include:

• Simplicity of design, facilitating an enduring and

  flexible capability;

• Robustness and durability through stringent attention to

  structural detail and continuity;

• Excellent damaged stability characteristics through strict

  watertight subdivision;

• Modular payload capability promoting a flexible and

  adaptable amphibious asset;

• Fully net centric capable combat system;

• Utilisation of COTS equipment throughout,

  reducing build and through life costs.

Design: Caimen-200

With its capability to transport 200 tonnes of payload (vehicles and

troops) at high speed, whilst retaining excellent levels of stability

during beached operations, the innovative Caimen-200 presents

a significant advancement in amphibious assault ships. The key

benefit is the increased rate of logistics flow through high transit

speed and rapid loading and unloading of vehicles and personnel

via the ‘active’ bow ramp enabling increased safety for crew

and embarked forces.
