265,000 girls participated in lacrosse in 2012.

teams sustain an average of 11 reported concussions a season, more going undiagnosed.

27 girls a year sustain injuries that prevent them from finishing the season.

hard case helmets are still not allowed at any level of play.

concussions are measured in athletic exposures. anytime an athlete steps on the field for a practice or competition is counted as an athletic exposure. The following rates are for every 100,000 athletic exposures.
