Camp Report 2010 – Westmoreland Camp Westmoreland was hosted at the Bluefields People Community Association Centre (BPCA) from July 5-9, 2010. The camp was attended by forty four (44) children from New Hope Primary & Junior High, Ferris Primary, Caledonia All age & Infant, Savanna-la-mar Primary, Mearnsville All age, Holly Hill Primary, Sir Clifford Campbell Primary, Loving Care Prep, Unity Prep, Elite Prep, Savanna-la-mar Prep and Haddo Primary. Campers were engaged in several activities which included: Yeast Air Balloon, Wow Demonstration, Best Parachute, Making an Egg Float, Building a Volcano and the Making of Solar Cookers. The campers were taken on tours of the Negril Royal Palm Reserve and Negril Lighthouse. At the Closing and Awards Ceremony on the final day, Certificates of Participation and Back-to-School packages were presented to all campers. The Back-to-School packages consisted of: books, pens, pencils, sharpeners, and rulers. Five campers were selected for special prizes, including Top Boy and Top Girl Awards. The prizes awarded consisted of school stationeries and dictionaries. Mrs. Doreen Dietrich was the guest presenter at the Closing and Awards Ceremony. Mrs. Antoinette Wiltshire-Pottinger of Green Pond High, Mrs. Cynthia Turner of Caledonia All age, Mr. Keith Wedderburn, and Ms. Peddie (a community volunteer) worker provided support/assistance for the Camp.
