The objective for this project was to create an experimental typography poster series that addressed a variety of topics or subjects that were all tied together by a blue color theme. Many of the design solutions that I created for this project involved hand fabricating or designing physical typographic forms and then staging them to be photographed. Some of the visual communication solutions I designed for this project involved creating embossing templates, silk screens, and even freezing letterforms into a block of ice and illuminating it by placing on a light box then photographing it.

I N T R O D U C T I O N
This series of experimental typographic explorations is about the color blue. This poster series aims to explore the subject through abstract and literal interpretations. Each concept was has been presented in a style which best visually communicates the interpertation of the subject matter by the designer. Some pieces are playful in nature, while others are more serious due to the subject matter they address. Each piece is meant to stimulate the viewer’s own interpretations of how the color blue relates to the particular subject mater. I hope you will enjoy viewing these pieces as much as I have enjoyed the process of developing each piece.
