Blu-ray

Definition of Blu-ray Disc.

Blu-ray Disc is a next-generation, optical disc format that enables theultimate high-def entertainment experience. Blu-ray Disc can be shortened

down to "BD. Blu-ray Disc provides these key features and advantages of theblu-ray. Blue-ray can be maximum picture resolution. Blu-ray Disc delivers full1080p* video resolution to provide pristine picture quality, and Largest capacity

available anywhere (25 GB single layer/50 GB dual layer). Blu-ray Disc offersup to 5X the capacity of today's DVDs.It is the best audio possible, and also

blu-ray Disc provides as many as 7.1 channels of native, uncompressedsurround sound for crystal-clear audio entertainment. Blu-ray enhanced

interactivity to enjoy such capabilities as seamless menu navigation, exciting,new bonus features, and network/Internet connectivity.

HistoryThe Blu-ray Disc specification was officially announced in February

2002. Blu-ray Disc recorders were first launched in Japan in 2003. Blu -ray Disc

players appeared globally in early 2006. The name Blu -ray Disc refers to the

blue laser that is used to read from and record to a Blu -ray Disc. In comparisonto a red laser, as used in DVD and CD, a blue laser allows for a much higher

density and hence larger storage capacity. "Blu" is intentionally spelled withoutan "e" to allow for a distinctive registration of the trademark name.

The group of companies that develops the Blu-ray Disc format wasinitially called Blu-ray Disc Founders, and it was established in early 2002. InJune 2004, the group was renamed to Blu-ray Disc Association to underline its

intentions to welcome other companies to join the association.

Since the industrial revolution, there have been a great number of inventions that have skyrocketed in

the past one hundred years, not to mention the innovation on behalf of scientists around the world.

Everything from fighter jets, missiles, planes, ships, submarines, telephones, electricity, computers,

internet, cable, television, motion pictures, and of course the Blu Ray Disc were seemingly created

from this one small revolution. The functions of Blu-ray keep upgrading and keep growing in various

industries.

The industry which uses the Blu-ray includes:

Electronic Industry

The electrical and electronics industry changed drastically after the turn of the millennium, seeing ahuge growth in the past decade. Nowadays, most people will have a High definition TV [HDTV]. To

make it more perfectly, Blu-ray Disc offers the ideal content delivery system for pre-recorded media.

Aside from that, Blu-ray featuring the most advanced recording capability for the owners of HDTVs.

With the capability or functions in Blu-ray Disc, it allowed the users to record or stores an enormous

amount of High Definition Broadcasts. Blu-ray Disc will retain all the detail from the original and

absolute best quality. By the end, the Blu-ray Disc is more likely to increase the industry of HDTVs.

Some Electronics companies which had supported Blu-ray Disc are Hitachi, LG Electronics,Matsushita (Panasonic), Mitsubishi, Pioneer, Philips, Samsung, Sharp and Sony.

Computer Industry

The storage inside PCs wills easy stuff up with all the users personal files such as music, video and

etc. Gear up with the unlimited download from the internet. The storage of the PC should be jam in no

longer period. In the market for data storage, there have alternative ways to store this data, such as

CDs and DVDs. Yet they only can fulfill substantial portion of it. Blu-ray Disc can help to solve the

problem as it has large amounts of capacity to be used. Blu-ray Disc in a PC can allowed reading from

and recording to CD and DVD media. This make easy for the consumers. Aside from that, the

physical size is identical to DVDs and CDs. The cost of a Blu-ray Disc is value due to its GB, its a

very economical storage medium.

Some Computer companies which had supported Blu-ray Disc are Apple, HP and Dell, which have

adopted the Blu-ray Disc format in their top-of-the-line models.

Entertainment Industry

Blu-ray Disc can bring out more lively high quality picture and the sound in home. The motion of

picture is imagery and smoother scene transitioning in order to make the films seems more spectacular

than normal life. The users may experience the feeling of reality of the picture while sitting in front of

their television set. Blu-ray has increasingly established its position as the number one choice of next

generation of home entertainment.

The Companies that have being supported Blu-ray Disc are Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc.,

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, Paramount, Lionsgate Entertainment, Universal Studios

Home Entertainment and etc.
