WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT HEAD START?

For nearly 50 years Head Start has worked to provide early childhood education, children’s health

and nutrition services, and parent involvement programs to disadvantaged families. Beginning as

part of Lyndon B. Johnson’s Great Society Campaign, Head Start is one of the longest-running

programs in the country to address and combat intergenerational poverty. Salt Lake Head Start

has been nationally recognized as one of the most innovative and outstanding divisions throughout

the federal network. We are supported in part by federal funds, but could never offer the range of

educational experiences and high-quality classrooms to which we aspire without partnerships with

local community-minded individuals. Our goal is to see that children and their families do not

merely survive, but thrive and learn to take charge of their own dreams and potential.

Your donations of supplies, volunteer hours, community investment, and financial contributions

allow us to provide:

Children’s health clinics

Safe and interactive classrooms with dedicated, qualified teachers

Nutritious, kid-friendly meals daily for children who may not eat regularly otherwise

Literacy and school readiness preparation

Parent involvement and employment training opportunities

A yearly scholarship for a past Head Start student to the University of Utah

and so much more. Lives are changed and futures provided with hope and direction thanks to your

participation.

HOW CAN I PARTICIPATE IN THE BLOOM GALA?

The Sponsorship Levels described on the following pages offer a

wide range of options of support for individuals, businesses, and

corporations who are also committed to the Head Start mission.

Thank you for your interest and willingness to collaborate - we

appreciate your time, experience, and donations!
