Red Blood CellsTransport oxygen from the lungs to the tissues around our body. They also gets waste carbon dioxide from our tissue to our lungs where it can be breathed out.
White blood cellsThey are cells of immune system involved in defending the body against both infectious disease and foreign materials
PlateletsTo prevent bleeding.
Blood vessels are intricate network of hollow tubes that transport blood throughout the entire body.
There are 4 types of blood vessels which are arteries, veins, capillaries and sinusoids
ArteriesArteries are elastic vessels that transports blood away from the heart.
VeinsVeins are elastic vessels that transport blood to the heart.
CappilariesCappilaries are extremely small vessels located within the tissues of the body that transport blood from the arteries to the veins
There are 4 main blood vessels connected to the heart which consists of:- inferior vena cave- superior vena cava- aorta- pulmonary artery
Large vein that carries de-oxygenated blood from the lower half of the body into the right atrium of the heart.
Short vein that carries deoxygenated blood from the upper half of the body to the heart’s right atrium .
Distributes oxygenated blood to all parts of the body through the systemic circulation
Carries deoxygenated blood to the corresponding lungs .
