After watching today’s news, challenge yourself to remember the main news stories. Can you remember 3?

Top tip: You might want to write down each story that you remember. Sometimes this helps you think of more!

Tuesday

LiteracyContinuation of revising split phonemes (a-e, e-e, i-e, o-e, u-e).

Continuation of revising joined phonemes (ck, ai, oy, oa, qu).

Activities - P3F Green Group and P3S Red Group

1. How many words can you remember containing this week’s phonemes? Can you create your own split phonemes word list?2. Using this week's spelling words, pick 6 of these and put each of these words into a sentence. Can you then pick two words from your word list and put these into a sentence? As we do in class, remember to underline your spelling words.*Remember neat presentation, capital letters, full stops and finger spaces.

Activities – P3F Blue Group and P3S Green Group

1. Write this week’s sounds down. Under each sound write three words which have this sound in them.2. Read the sentences and fill in the missing spelling word. Remember to read your sentence to check that the word you have picked makes sense. Can you pick two of your own spelling words and say these in a sentence to an adult?

Numeracy- Multiplication

· Multiplication using X symbol

1. Follow the PowerPoint slides for Tuesday. These are interactive and should be placed on slide show to use this feature. Pupils should note their answers to the blanks on a whiteboard or paper. The answers are displayed in red when slide is moved on.

2. Complete 5x table worksheet for revision.

3. Choose an activity from Math Menu to complete. Try to choose something different. (Not Top marks)

P3F Subtraction Group (Children who usually work alongside teacher for activities)

Using your number line which you created yesterday, complete Tuesday’s worksheet. Remember to double check your answers!

R.E.

On the 6th January, the Feast of the Epiphany is celebrated.

Look at the attached PowerPoint/video or carry out your own research and try to find out the answer to the following:

1. What is the Feast of Epiphany?2. Who were the visitors that travelled to see baby Jesus?3. What gifts were brought to baby Jesus?

Find out another two pieces of information about the Feast of the Epiphany.

Can you use what you have learned to draw a picture about the Feast of Epiphany?

Wednesday

Numeracy- Multiplication

· Multiplication sentences using pictures.

1. Follow the PowerPoint slides for Wednesday. These are interactive and should be placed on slide show to use this feature. Pupils should note their answers to the blanks on a whiteboard or paper. The answers are displayed in red when slide is moved on.

2. Complete 10x table worksheet for revision.

3. Choose an activity from Math Menu to complete. Try to choose something different. (Not Topmarks)

P3F Subtraction Group Today, we are going to be continuing on with subtraction, however instead of seeing the - sign (for example: 12 – 6 = ) you will see some words which are known as mathematical vocabulary. We have discussed these in class so don’t be tricked!

Some words you may see are:less than subtract

Take away Minus

Remember these all mean the exact same as the – sign and you are doing the same to work out the answer. Remember to use your number line or concrete materials to help you!

Literacy - Reading/Common Words

1. Select a reading book of your choice and read it aloud. Remember to focus on punctuation in the text and use your reading strategies to help you with tricky words.

2. Now, have a look at the list of common words – read as many of these as you can aloud to an adult.

Activities

1. Common words detective – pick out some common words from the list (perhaps ones you find a little bit tricky). Can you identify these in your reading book? Now have a go at writing these common words down (try to do this without peeking at the spelling!) or spell them aloud to an adult.

2. Can you come up with 3 questions about your book? Write down your question followed by the answer to your question below. Remember your question mark!

HWB- New Year Resolutions

At the beginning of the year lots of people make New Year Resolutions. These are goals that people set themselves to get better at. Some common resolutions are:

· To keep Their room tidy

· To walk the dog everyday

· To exercise more

Use the worksheet to help you reflect on what you enjoyed last year and think ahead to what you would like to achieve this year. It doesn’t need to be school related! You can choose to work on your football skills or your drawing skills.

There are 2 worksheets, you can choose to use lines or not. You can even create your own sheet as long as it has the same information.

When you’ve written your goals, put on your favourite music and enjoy colouring it in to make it bright and colourful.

Finally, put your sheet somewhere where it remind you and help you stick to your goals. Maybe on the fridge? Above your bed? You decide!

P3F Green Group and P3S Red Group

Remember to:Use capital letters, full stops and finger spaces.Read over each sentence to check that it makes sense.Use at least three connectives in your writing (these are words such as: and, but, so, because).

P3F Blue Group and P3S Green Group

Remember to:Use capital letters, full stops and finger spaces.Read over each sentence to check that it makes sense.

Numeracy- Multiplication

· Revise 2, 5 and 10x tables

1. Topmarks game- Coconut Multiples.

2. Complete 'Crack the Code’ activity, utilising 2, 5 and 10x table facts.

3. Choose an activity from Math Menu to complete. Try to choose something different.

P3F Subtraction Group (Children who usually work alongside teacher for activities)

Please complete today’s worksheet. You are going to have a go at writing the calculation using the information given. Watch out for mathematical vocabulary and remember these words mean the same as the – sign.

For example: 3 less than 7. Answer: 7 – 3 = * Remember when you are doing subtraction, the largest number comes first. Here in the example given, 7 is larger than 3 and so this number comes first in our calculation.

P.E.As we have been doing at school, we will continue to focus on fitness.Warm up:- Count the number of letters in your name and do this number of jumping jacks.

-Now add 20 on and do this number of high knees.- Count the number of people in your house and multiply this by 10 (or add 10) and do this number of knee bends.- How many letters are in your best friend’s name? Add 15 and do this number of squats.- Jog on the spot for 1 minute – what are you going to use to time yourself?

Select two videos from Just Dance – happy dancing!

Health & Wellbeing - Emotion check-in.Just as we do in class, it is important we continue to have a little think and talk about our feelings when we are at home. How are you feeling today and what is making you feel that way?Create your own “check-in diary” and write down today’s date followed by a word or picture to describe how you are feeling. Why are you are feeling this way?

We have been discussing things we can do to help ourselves if we are feeling a little bit sad, angry or worried/scared. If you are feeling any of these emotions today – what do you think you can do to help yourself?

Friday

Numeracy- Multiplication

· Word Problems using multiplication

1. Topmarks game- Hit the Button. P3 Challenge- Who can get the highest score?

2. Complete as many as you can in the Word Problems task. Encourage your child to write down the calculation (e.g. 5 X 4) and any working.

3. Choose an activity from Math Menu to complete. Try to choose something different.

P3F Subtraction Group (Children who usually work alongside teacher for activities)

Please complete Friday’s worksheet. This is a mixture of all the activities we have been revising this week. As always, remember to use your number line and concrete materials to help you!
