Blog Design

By Crystal Bukenya

Throughout this process, I took responsibility for the design of the blog, constantly adjusting the fonts and the layout of the posts to make it appear suitable to our theme and genre.

As time went on, I became familiar with the software and began to improve the design as I spent more time on it. As we were in a group, I considered their opinions so I had a steady guide for the theme we wanted to achieve.

This was my first time using the software, and so it was a working process and I had to adjust to the tools and options available for the designs. The first main design was very plane and simplistic. This was to avoid complications with the blog as I still had to adjust. The colours however did not relate to the theme at all, and we felt that it would not relate to our film in any way.

Second Main Design• The second design was more fitting to the

theme, as I thought about the conventions of a thriller, such as dark colours. I chose a less bright layout to make it appear less happy, however we still felt that more work could have gone into the detail. I also had to consider the new logo and how it would fit into this theme.

Third DesignThis is the final blog design. As my skills improved, I considered the detail of the text font and colours. In order to relate it to my film I added an image of the recording screen, in our title, which links to the DVD footage that the protagonist recieves. The wallpaper of the fuzzy TV screens adds detail to the blog and suits the dark, mysterious themes, whilst relating to the film storyline. Overall we felt this blogger appeared distinctive and easy to identify it with our film and our logo.
