2018 What is coming to members
Page 5 January 2018 Edition
In 2018 Blind Sports NSW will continue to deliver inclusion sport services to Futsal, Touch Foot-
ball, while supporting our affiliate members of Cricket, Goalball & Golf to expand participation.
We are happy to announce that sports including AFL, Basketball, Hockey & Netball are very keen
to host inclusion programs which will further transition Blind Sporting opportunities across NSW.
We also are keen to expand our social recreation offering to adults and +55 people with a vision
impairment or blindness in NSW. There is currently a lot of social isolation within the blind and vi-
sion impaired community and Blind Sports NSW wants to open up yoga classes, walking groups,
tandem cycling groups, orienteering and other social activities such as luncheons or social gather-
ings to support people in the NSW community with low vision and blindness.
Blind Cricket NSW prepare for
NCIC & T20 World Cup
NSW Blind Cricket are preparing to take on the
other states in the 2nd annual National Cricket
Inclusion Championships to be held in Geelong,
Victoria January, 2018.
Captain Lindsey Heaven is again going to lead
the Blues into battle against arch rivals VIC, with
main opposition from QLD & SA. The squad will
have to also cope with players participating in the
T20 World Cup in Dubai which will be played im-
mediately before the National Championships.
NSW defeated all sides at the 2017 NCIC event
but missed out on the final due to run rate, Blind
Sports NSW would like to wish the team success.
