Living in the Word:
In line with a specific request of the Holy Father, I ask that all our families return to the beautiful practice of praying before and after meals (cf. Laudato Si, 227). Together with our traditional
prayer to God for the blessing of the meal and our sharing of it, this can be an opportunity to hear a line from Sacred Scripture and respond to it.

Grace This Week
A way to experience Scripture with every meal ... new prayers are posted each week at www.caedm.ca/grace.
The Prayers
Before the meal, begin with a brief excerpt from Scripture:
Leader: “Lord, Jesus we thank you for your Word. You call us to be merciful as our
Heavenly Father is merciful” (cf. Luke 6:36).
All: “Help us, Jesus, to share your love and mercy with those in need.”
Together: “Bless us, O Lord, and these Thy gifts, which we are about to receive from Thy bounty. Through Christ our Lord. Amen”
After the meal: “We give you thanks, Almighty God, for all your gifts, who live and reign now and forever. Amen”
Speaking up for Catholic Educa-tion
VIDEO: https://vimeo.com/241231368
The Bishops of Alberta & NWT issued a special message for Catholic Education Sunday this year, aiming to clear up some misunderstandings and also call us to action.
"We are proud of who we are as Cath-olics. We do not and we shall not apol-ogize to anyone for our faith or for our schools."
If you missed hearing the message in church, check it out in video format above, or download the full text at this link:

Together, let’s take action for peace!
Please support the new Development and Pace Caritas Campaign for this year, Women at the Heart of Peace.
There is a ample evidence to show that women help to reduce violence. Prevent con-flict, build peace and sustain it. Support the inclusion of woman in building and sustain-ing peace, especially in war-torn countries of the global south. To learn more about this campaign I encourage you to go online to https://www.devp.org/en/education/fall2017
and see the good work that your prayers and donations supports.
