Im So Fly...Phillip Brown known as Rx is a 21 year old grime art-

ist from south Birmingham who has always found music as a passion and the perfect and sometimes the only way he can express his feelings regardless of his mood, and now he is making a new promo mix tape called “I’m sky high” and here is an exclusive BLAM interview with the underground artist:

What inspired your name ?

“I started out being know as reckless because as a yout I was abit reckless ya get me but as I matured he abbreviated it to Rx to show my unique image and mature vibe.

How did it all begin ?

It all began with him as a school boy just sampling rewriting the lyrics to some of his favourite songs in his spare time then went on to writing poetry and converged the two together and began writing his own music.

What was your first ever recorded track ?

And it all began with him recording his first two tracks in a home studio firstly “big boy bars” ft lexis and CdotDee and the famous “wifey” originally a Tinie Tempah track on a flukes beat and remixed by many artist across the UK.

What made you serious about music ?

“Initially music was just a passion but one tune I made called “skank out” transformed my mind state as I performed it live and I had the room banging the room only held about 200 people and 199 of them was up on stage skanking with me this sense of power knowing I could entertain people gave me a lot encouragement”

What was your favourite moment as grime MC?

“ Well I would have to be my first set with a live band called the second city sons I remixed a few of there songs it was sick as the room was packed with about 500 people and to know they were all their to listen to my music it was simply amazing”

Have there been any problems ?

“There have been minor setbacks such as my second ever promo CD “sweet boy to street boi” was lost due to a computing error which was frustrating at the time but never deterred me from making music as it is still my passion”

What do you aspire to become ?

“I am determined to become a big hit despite the huge amounts of competition I am trying to separate my music from the genre of underground grime in order to become a commercial artist to the likes of Skepta and Devlin I also feel that how grime artists are slated for going commercial is wrong as they are making money and good music but for me personally I see it all as promotion as negative hype is still hype init”.

What’s next for you ?

“I am currently working on an entirely back to back promo in production due to release around April or May after my collaborative promo with Genz “In our spare time” released on Christmas eve which had 100 downloads the same day and after about 2 weeks it had 4/500 units it was only promoted over face book and people we know but our current promo “ I’m sky high” features various artists such as impact, minus, screamer, phaser and some mystery artists who I cannot reveal but I can say the promo has funky and dubstep tunes”.

Rx is just working hard to get his music out there get a buzz about his name and possibly become the next grime artist on your TV.
