1 first day meets first date

I am sitting on a rock in my front yard it’s Halloween. It is the worst Halloween ever Iam board and cold. Teenagers and toddlers that’s all I have as trick-or-treaters but, I

don’t want to do anything. It’s not a bad day because it’s Halloween it’s a bad day

because it’s my birthday too and all I get is wall paint (yeah paint from my parents)and my brother said happy birthday like always but also he tells me he’s leaving for

the military (USMC). In other words it’s a bad day my brother is my best friend, my

tutor, you name it. He is always there when I need him. Through break ups and raveshe is always there to get me off the hook, the only thing that is good about today was

that it is Halloween. It’s 9pm and no one is coming to my door, all the teenagers went

to the big Halloween party but myself. I can’t go it’s a school night and I know that

most of my classmates won’t be at school tomorrow. I should probably tell you a little bit about myself. My name is Ebony I’m 18 today and all my other friends live in

Arizona while I’m in Colorado doomed to be board. The only thing that is ever

interesting about this place is the house at the end of the street which was empty and

old, somebody moved in a week ago but there never there. I’ve seen the son twice buthe’s not enrolled in school yet and he was crawling out the basement window he’s cute

but I was telling you about myself so why am I going off on a boy I don’t know.

The next day I’m sitting in class trying not to cry because my back is in severe

pain someone behind me asks if I’m OK.

“Yeah...”I say holding back tears.“You sure?” he asks

“Yeah I am” I lie.

“OK” he says.As I walk home from school it starts raining (actually it’s pouring) it a nice day (I’m

more of a rain not shine kind of person unless I’m the one shining but in sunlight I do

shine I’m so white). I can hear some of the others on my bus walking but I just keepgoing. I hear someone come up behind me and I think it’s one of my “friends” ha to

come play a joke on me so I turn around.

“I can hear y-” I stop talking “OH”It’s the boy from down the street

“Hello”

“Hi” I reply

“Hi my names Allen” he says extending his hand“Hello my names Ebony” I say as I shake his hand

He looks at my eyes a little too long but he’s cute with longish blond hair and blue

eyes thatsparkle tall and skinny with a little bit of eyeliner with his hair teased in some places

and flat ironed and bangs that flapped in his face ‘he really is cute’ I think to myself I

get cut off in thought when I notice he’s trying to ask if I’m OK “Ya I’m fine why”

“You were really trying not to cry earlier”

“Oh is it that noticeable my back was hurting that’s all I fell on it over the weekend

but I’m fine just practice that’s all”



“What were you practicing for?”

“NOTHING I just nothing never mind” I sort of say to fast

“OK then”“So you live in the old house down the street with?”

“No one the cat”

“No parents really OK”“No I don’t have any I mean I have parents but I don’t live with them”

“OK then

“What you doing tonight?”“WHAT”I say surprised he would make a move so soon I mean god how cheap can a

guy get.

“Oh sorry I was wondering if you wanted to come over and see my place I don’t really

have any fun by myself ““Oh ya sure why not. What time?”

“How is 6:30?”

‘Good for me”

“Hey you wouldn’t happen to be a vegetarian would you”“No way”

“Good I don’t have vegetarian food and everyone in this small town seems to be youknow”

“Ya it drives me nuts hard to find a good steak”

“OK then steak it is” he says with the most beautiful smile ever.

“Sounds nice hey Allen get over here your soaked”“thanks” he says again with that smile that makes me go weak in the knees as he lights

a cigarette “you want one” ”no I’m fine thank you”

I get to Allen’s house that night and see a note on the door.

Come on in ebony

I’m in the kitcken

so I walk in to the house and I smell the most amazing smell ever I fallow it to the

kitchen/living room I find Allen on the couch raped in blankets shivering and sleepingI check for a fever and my ye go wide he’s burning up I run down the street to my

brother my brother and I go back to his house and carry him back my house to get the

fever down.

“What are we going to do” I ask my brother “I don’t know moms on her way home so well ask her”

I turn on the space heater and I sit next to him on my bed. He wakes up like 2 hours

later it’s like 80 degrees in my room by now.“Allen you OK”

“Ya where am I” he asks while looking at my blood red walls and black everything

else.“You were sick so my brother and I brought you over to my house because your heat

wasn’t working.”

“You have some water’

“Ya on the nightstand behind you”



“Thanks”

“You had a fever and were shaking so ya you didn’t look very good”

“That happens from time to time I forget to take my med.”“It makes you pass out”

“No its cause I can’t eat some foods so I don’t get all the nurturance I need”

“So you’re fine”“Ya I’m fine”

“OK I don’t know if my mom will let you go till she knows your fine though”

“Well mind as make do with it you know how un-fine it is to cook for yourself ““ya I do I cook when my mom’s not home’ I say with a smirk

“I’m sure you’re a good cook” he says with that beautiful smile

“Uh-hu if setting hamburger helper on fire is a good cook” I say laughing

“Hey I have set things in fire like my kitchen you know how easy it is to leave thestove on” he says laughing

“Hay not funny I’ve done that but I have a electric stove” I say jokingly

“Hey did I leave the stove on”

“Oh my god I’ll go check” I say getting up really fast.

ch. 2 Dinner in flames

I ran down the street to Allen house and all I could see was smoke coming from the back

of the house “holly shit” was all that was going thought my head I ran in to the house which is

the stupidest thing I could do at this very moment all I find is the cat and smoke I pick up the



little kitten trying not get scratched I get out of the house but low and behold I run back in

(stupid stupid I know) I run up (yes up) the stairs to make sure noting important is in the house

on my way down the stairs all I see is smoke and I think I see Allen but that’s it until I pass out Ifind myself out side only five minutes later by myself I pull out my phone and call 911 they

show up in 10 seconds. After they stop the fire and give my some oxygen I get a lot of questions

yes, no, I don’t know, my house.“OK that was a very big fire so where is the owner”

“At my house sir he’s sick sort of”

“How old is he’s ““16 I think”

“Where are the parents?”

“May I speak with him?”

“Yes you may”The fire chef fallows me down the street to my house I show him the way to my room I take

him through the main stairs not the back stairs the me and my brother use.

“Hold on please “

“Yes of course”I knock on the door “come on in “

“Allen someone is here to talk to you about the house and your (I clear my thought) your parentsis that OK or are you not feeling well”

“No its OK I think you should hear it to but first how is it you know my house”

“You can look at it through the window son” the fire chef steps into the room

Allen gets up and moves to the window and looks out “holy shit”“It must have taken a couple of hours for the whatever it was that was cooking to burn up and set

fire but the front of the house should be fine just smells at this point and soggy” the fire chef said

trying to make a joke of it (let's just say It fell flat)”what am I going to do” Allen says racking his fingers through his hair.

“Well fist son where r you parents”

After a alien told the fire chef how his parents had died in a explosion at his last house and howhe got a lot of money from them and how there was no one he could go to in his family so he

pack up and moved to the other side of the world from Japan.

An hour or so later when my mother and my brother had gotten home from the store we all satdown in my room and discussed what we would do next we settled on he would stay in the spare

room next to mine till his house was up and running again when the door bell rang and it was the

fire chef again to tell up that they had saved a picture of his mom and dad and also his close and

his car which was luckily in the drive way.There was just one thing I couldn’t rap my head around was how I had gotten out of the house

and how Allen was in bed not touched by smoke or fire and how he had gotten to the second

story without using the stairs.****

Allen and I were on our way home from school its Wednesday Allen was driving. The radio is

on and we and just talking he is asking all the normal questions favorite color. Black. Favoritemovie. Vampirevill.

“If Vampirevill is your favorite movie is Vampirevill then do you believe in vampires” he asks

with a smirk

“Ya I guess so I mean anything is possible right”



“Hey off topic but your brother and I were talking and he said you looked a little down so I

thought we could go do something this weekend you your brother and me”

“Ya I guess it sounds good to me this weekend then K”“So you and Nat (my brother) seem to be getting along good “

“Ya he’s cool but I could never go in to the military”

“That’s fin e I couldn’t do it ether it’s his dream not ours right ““Exactly that’s good for him I wish I knew what I was doing in life speaking of later he also said

you would like to go ice skating up in the mountains that sound good”

“Oh he did he” I say a little pissed off”“You sure you don’t sound like you want to”

“Ya it sounds great but when we get home I should show you something “

“OK what I is it “

“you’ll see’ I say grimly****

Well it was time to come clean on why on the first day we met my back as hurting so bad and

what I have putting to the side when he moved in.

“OK so where are we going because this is a closet ““well first this isn’t a closet that’s just what I said this is what me and Nat call the hall of fame

the right is me it’s really just the old maid stairs when you get to the top just go to the right” wewent up the spiral stairs Allen just marveled at all my metals and trophies and pictures with all

my favorite figure skaters. (And yes I said figure skaters.)

“Wow well that’s well wow it’s just wow”

“Good but I’m not done yet” I go to my closet at the back of my closet there is a false back witha door invisible unless you look for it I open the door and there it is all my little outfits and ice

skates and my bag and anything I need for ice skating

“Oh wow now step in to my world”“Did you build this by yourself?”

“No Nat and I did it for my birthday”

“You wear all of their”“Well I have worn all of them yes Thursdays after school when I’m not home I’m at the ice rink

Saturday at 4 and Sunday evening”

“Wow that’s cool and the fact that you can tell me is amazing ““Well you live here now and I can’t hide it forever and I care about you and I don’t want you to

get the wrong idea”

“Thanks lovely”

“Go through that door and on the left is your room” I say handing him a skeleton key“What’s this for”

“So you can open the door “

“Ya right duh”“Don’t worry I won’t sneak up on you” I say with a snicker

Allen walked to his room closed the door I can hear him looking through things thank god only

the back of his house was burned but it all kind of smells like smoke but that could be becausehe smokes, he must have lost everything in the accident in Japan.



3. Date on thin ice

The weekend had come and I was having an OK week so far the only problem was Nat hadgotten sick and he couldn’t come with Allen and me to the ice skating trip.

“OK so witch ice ring are we going to up north” I ask Allen

“It’s a lake but I don’t know which one it is”“And what time are we leaving at”

“How dose 8:30 sound”

“Well I’m going to bed see you in the morning ““Good night love”

“Good night Allen”



I liked the way he talked to me like he was from England now that I think about it he

didn’t move here to till 5 years after his parents had died I just chalked I up to he live in England

and the slang sort of stuck.****

I woke early the next morning to get ready before 8:30 I had a hard time getting to bed

because someone was making noise in the bathroom he seemed to be taking a long time on hishair (yes his hair I don’t even take that long but I have no need to I put my hair in to a bun out of

habit he came out of the bathroom finally ready.

“Wow your hair is cool”So that’s what was making so much noise last night dying his hair tips red and his

roots black.

“You like it love”

“Ya it looks good” I say with a smile“Good I did it just for you for today it will wash out”

“Well you know there my favorite. Colors " I say with a giggle and a snort

“Ha-ha that’s cute”

“No its not” I say really embarrassed“Yes it is” he says trying to tickle me

“No its not” I try to say between laughing and trying to breath and then it happen I squeaked andsnorted and squeaked and I couldn’t help it he was tickling.

“Ha-ha you squeak too”

“Don’t laugh it’s not funny”

“I’m not laughing because its funny I’m laughing because it’s cute” he says****

“Were almost there" he says

“I see it up the road oh my god there’s a loge”We spent the first hour at lunch the next three hours ice skating a second later the sun

was going down and Allen was once again on his butt.

“Come on up you go” I say to him for a tenth timeWe both scream in unison as we fall over and Allen is on top of me Allen just stays like

that staring at my eyes.

“Allen my back is freezing“Oh sorry love” he says as he pulls me up and raps his jacket around me and holds me to his

chest he’s so warm. I just look at his eyes for a minute till we end up kissing just one small kiss

that leaves me warm inside.

“You want to go inside ebony its getting dark and it’s snowing ““Ya lets go I’m getting cold”



Ch.4 hot chocolate kisses

We final make it inside and order two hot chocolates and we couldn’t fine two seats so we endup in the corner in one chair me sitting on Allen’s lap.

“Okay so you told me you’re secret so I’m going to tell you mine but you can’t tell anyone can

you promise me that

“Seal it with a kiss”“Okay” he says with a kiss that leaves me breathless

“So what did you want to tell me?”

“It can wait till later” he comes in for another kiss“Okay I-“I get cut off by a long deep kiss

“Excuse me “I hear behind me

“Yes” I say still looking at Allen’s eye in a sort of daze“We’re snowed in for the night so we’ll put you up for the night “says the woman again

“What” Allen and I say in unison

“Crap really” says shocked

“That’s okay well take a room with two beds” Allen says



“Key thanks lovely”

About ten minutes later he come out of the bathroom in a pair of pants and no shirt (oh god)

then he puts a shirt over his head (darn)it’s a black t-shirt that says my chemical romance on thefront with a picture of the band under it.

“I love MCR”

“Ya I like them to about earlier love and the whole we’re not together thing are we” he ask withcuriosity in his eyes

“I don’t know what would you say”

“Then I would say yes” he says as he leans in for a kiss“Ya well it’s a little early in the relation to be sleeping together” I say with a giggle

“We’re not sleeping together we are just in the same room sharing a bed because the roads are

not passable and no one is leaving the hotel tonight”

“That made it sound sooo much better”“Ya I know I kind of made it sound worse sorry love”

“Let’s not forget it’s the honeymoon suit” I say sarcastically

“Love if I can get the window open do you mind if I have a smoke”

“No go right ahead”“OK I can’t get the damn window open so ill have to wait”

“There’s no TV in this damn room what the hell”“Honeymoon ebony”

“Oh right duh well then I’m gonna go to bed then good night”

“I’m gonna do the same lovely night”

“Night night” I say as he kisses me good nightI move to the other side of the bed and I feel like I’m farther from him than I have ever been

I’ve only known him for 2 weeks and yet I fell I like I’ve known him my whole life and there’s

almost a whole in my heart like I can’t live without him at the same time I feel like there’ssomething he’s not telling me something.

I woke late and sometime during the night Allen and I gravitated together I was entwined in hisarms he was holding on to me for dear life almost his chest to my back I was comfortable

somehow then he moved a little and loosened his grip and his arm was around my waist now I

could breath better I wouldn’t dare move I would end up moving (I would never tell him but Iliked being in his arms) I felt safe in his arms I ended up falling back asleep. Later when I woke

up again Allen was trying to tell me we could go home but I just pulled him down and kissed

him.

Later in the lobby I found out Ryan and jay live not even 2 miles from us and we made plans toget together next weekend then we said are good bye's and were on our way home, by the time

we got home it was almost dark, me and Allen had school the next day so we ate dinner and then

went to bed like every other night



Ch.6 Nightmares and Teddy bearsLater that night I had a dream (more like a nightmare) about Allen that scared me pretty bad. So I

got up and got my key to Allen and mines door I walked through the corridor to Allen’s door and

knocked “yes” Allen said from the other side of the door a little groggy with sleep “oh it’s youlove what’s wrong lovely he asked concerned “I’m gonna sound like I’m five but I had a bad

dream” “ok love come here” he said scooting over and pulling back the covers for me to climb in

bed once again I felt safe again and I fell asleep Easily.The next morning I woke up to the sound of Allen’s alarm and a kiss on the forehead as he felt

his way down to my lips. “come o love time to get up we have school to get to” “fine I say not

wanting to move from his arms but his arms move first “come on time to get up” he says pulling

me out of bed “I’m up I’m up” we get ready in silence he doesn’t pry about the dream and Idon’t say anything we get ready in half the time we usually do so we go to the living room and

sit down I’m in Allen’s arms watching the news and its going to rain if not snow. I hear the front

door slam shut probably Nat getting back from his morning run Allen and I separate quickly.(My brother is protective I’m still his little sis) “We have to tell him love”

“No just give me like three days”

“No causes then we are sneaking around love just tell him”“Fine ill go tell him”

“You want me to come”

“No I don’t want to risk broken bones”



“Okay but I can hold my own I don’t need you looking out for me love it’s the other way around

lovely”

I make my way to the kitchen were Nat’s drinking a protein shake (eeewww) “hey Nat”“What’s up sis?”

“What if I was dating someone would you hurt him?”

“Maybe E who is it?”“Would you be okay with it?”

“Ya I guess who is it”

“Okay well I haven’t known him for very long”“okay who is it before I tickle it out of you spill”

“Okay okay it-“I get cut off by Allen

“You tell him love- never mind ill go sit on the couch”

“Fine its Allen Nat okay”“Okay that’s great”

“Wait your not mad”

“Why would I be mad I have been telling him to go for it I was sick” he say making air quotes

“You little sneak ass whole” I say trying not to laugh“I could see that you liked him and that he liked you and for once I’m ok with it like you say I’m

just gonna have to live with the fact that my little sister is growing up”“Oh thank god I thought you were going to go ape shit like last time so we’re good right”

“Ya unless he does anything if he does you’ll tell me right”

“Always do”

“Hey Allen get in here” Nat yells“Ya Nat”

“You have to promise you’ll take care of my little sister got it”

“Ya I will ill take great care of her” he says hugging me from behind and kissing my cheek “I don’t want to see any of that shit”

“Okay Nat, Allen we’re going to be late”

“Yeah getting the keys”“Way to go Allen great job dude” I hear Nat say from the other room

“Hey Nat shut the hell up I’m still in the house”

“You’re in trouble now man” Allen says from the other room“And you’re going to be in a sec to hurry up” I yell

“Yes coming love”

Allen and I we’re on our way to school Allen driving like always “I can’t believe you and my

brother that whole snowed in thing”“hey to be fare I didn’t know that It was going to snowed in or have e to sleep together your

brother and I just talked about me asking you out and things like that love” we were now sitting

in the parking lot Allen and I were talking I was laying down with my head on his leg as hestroked my hair he was asking me about my childhood and what I was like.

“Well I wasn’t normal I was the kid that hated P.E. and liked to read I guess I liked to not be in

reality all the time but when I’m with you everything seems to disappear.”“I know what you mean love I feel the same way”

I sit up to kiss him and he kisses back I’m hungry for love and almost greedy usually a guy

would wait like a year if not longer but then and then he says something I never thought I would

hear a guy say in a million years.



Ch 7 secrets revealedI woke to the smell of waffles. I walked down the sun lit stairs to the kitchen as I walked in to the

kitchen I saw Allen standing next to a stack of fresh and hot waffles. “Morning love” he says as

he pulls me in for a hug and kisses the top of my head. “Your brother went to get chocolate

chips”“Mmm do we have to wait for him?”

“Go head the waffles with the strawberries I made for you”

On the table was two hello kitty waffles with little strawberry hearts in it. “Where did you findthe waffle makes I haven’t seen it in years?”

“your brother found it in the basement and you like strawberries so I thought maybe a little bit of

love would make you feel better also I made you a white chocolate mocha caramel on ice justlike you brother said you liked but he put the foam heart in I don’t know how to do that”

“Thank you I feel better all ready I think just looking at you all messed from bed would have

done it though”“Well thank you love but your cute yourself in your B-o-t-d-f pj’s”

“Yes very sexy right good try though you only like it cause the short shorts” I say as I stand up to

hug him.

“You know you’re turning red” he says as I turn around to hug him as he kisses the top of myhead again. When I look up “MOM!”

“Ebony”

“I didn’t know you got back from your business trip that’s why Nat was making breakfast”“Ya last night where were you last night and where were you and why does your room smell like

cigarette smoke?”

“Oops that was both me ebony was with me last night helping me study and I had a smoke sorry”“Oh well next time have it outside and ebony have your inhaler with you”

“Mom I don’t need it anymore”

“Well that’s not what the doctor said in the ER last year when you decided to have a smoke”

“Okay Mrs. Richards”



“That’s okay Allen just be careful around ebony”

“Mother”

“No its okay love you didn’t tell me you used n inhaler or smoked”“Because I don’t do either anymore”

“And when did you two become a thing” my mother asked

“Does it matter mother”“Ya it does or I look like a tard” my mother says trying to look cool

“Like two weeks ago god mom” I say putting my face to Allen’s chest as he laughs under his

breath. “It’s not funny”“Yes it is you sound like a three year old it’s pretty cute and funny”.

Chapter 8 the proposalIt’s been 11 months since Allen moved in with my family and 10 for us dating .

“Happy anniversary love” Allen says cupping his hands over my eyes.“So this is why Nat wouldn’t let me up stairs all day” I say as Nat leads me to the stairs.

“Allen I can’t walk up the stairs with my eyes closed”

“Okay fine keep your eyes closed” Allen says as he picks me up.

“Okay ahhhh holly crap Allen god damn”“Well you can’t walk with your eyes closed so ill be your eyes and legs for the journey” he says

as I try to kiss him.

“I can’t find your lips”“That’s okay”

He says as he kisses me on the cheek.

***Allen reaches the top of the stairs and walks to my room. He sets me down on the bed and I feel

the softness of silk, the smell of roses and the sound of Tokio Hotel in the background. “Open

your eyes love” I open my eyes and I’m speechless all around there’s red and pink velvet androses on every surface.

“Do you like it?”

“Yes”

“Good because there’s more”“There’s more you didn’t have to get me anything”

“Well when I saw it I couldn’t help myself there for both of us one more so for me but hope you

like it. Okay hold out your hands and close your eyes” I do as he asks “it's something you loveand you have always wanted to go”

“Okay okay” I say as he puts a piece of paper in my hands.

“Okay open your eyes – but don’t scream”I open my eyes and unwrap the paper on try not to scream but f I try much longer the inside of

my lip is going to bleed. There in my hands are a pair of Tokio Hotel concert tickets.

“You like it love”

“Yes”



“Good now look outside”

“Anymore and I might explode” I look out the window and there in the drive way is a

motorcycle. “Oh my god can we go for a ride”“Yes we can let’s go” he says whisking me around the corner and down the stairs and outside. “I

had one of these back in London but it was so much money to get it out here to America”

“Ah so you did live in London I was wondering why you said love all the time”“What did you think I was faking a British Accent?”

“No I just figured you lived over there for a while”

“Pretty much love, my neighbors hated my bike”“Okay lets go” I say hoping on the bike”

“Not so fast love do you know how to drive the bike”

“No then you drive” I say sliding back making room for him to get on. “besides I like to back

more“ I say hugging him around the waist and lay my head on his back I wish we could stay likethis forever the stars shine and the night air is moist and cool. Allen hangs a left to one of the

back roads.

“I wish we could stay like this forever the night is perfect”

“Me to love the night is perfect and you shine as bright as the stars”“That was sweet” I say as he pulls to the side of the road. “What are you doing” “I can’t kiss you

while I’m driving can I” he turns around and pulls me into his lap to kiss me. “I love you Allen”“I love you too ebony I love you too”

I wake up the next morning not remembering how I got home or what even happened then It all

hits me the motorcycle and the tickets then I open my eyes to blood red silk dress and velvet blankets oh my god what happened last night and my head is throbbing. “Allen Allen” I say

getting out of bed.

“Yes love what is it” he says a little groggy from sleep and to my very thankful eyes he’swearing a matching pair of silk pants.

“What happened last night” I ask really confused “just to be clear did w-” Allen cuts me off

“No no we did not” he says a little too fast “not yet love you get to wait”“OK good so we’re cool right”

“We’re always cool” he says kissing me. “You fell asleep before we got home last night”

“So what did happen last night?”“I just you know told you about me and how in my family we don’t really age the same way as

most people and all that jazz”

“So you’re a vampire”

“You can call it that but I do age and die just slower I could live like for 200 hundred years andmost people will live till like 90 or 100 at most”

“So just to be clear we didn’t and you didn’t like bite me or anything like that”

“No I don’t have to and no we didn’t”“So we’re cool right”

Yes we’re cool we are always cool”

“So how does it work the whole odd ageing thing in your family?”“We will discuss that over breakfast”

“OK before that why are we wearing matching pj’s”

“I gave then to you last night and you made me wear the pants”

“Ya that sounds like me OK let’s go down stairs and get some food”



“No no I have a reservation over at st.Charles hotel”

“Ha ya right you need to get a reservation like 6 months in advance”

“Ya I called up hoping for a opening and to my luck they had one so got get dressed.” he sayswith a smirk

“You do not”

“Oh but I do”“Is there a dress code”

“Yes were a nice skirt”

“How about this one” I say pulling out a mini“I didn’t know you owned such a skirt I like it but I don’t think they’ll like it as much as I do”

“OK be out in sec.”

I come out in a little red dress that comes just above the knee and has a matching hand bag. I

walk into Allen’s room he just got done getting a 3 piece suit on. “Oh I like that dress new”“Ya saved it for something a special I like you suit new”

“No but I hate it monkey suit ready to go”

“Yes just need to put on my heels” I say putting on a matching pair of red stilettos, and walking

***The door man comes to open the car door for me with an umbrella as the rain pours down on us.

“You ready” Allen says as he hand the keys to valet and offers my arm.“Yes I say as we walk through the front to the restaurant to the right I see the most beautiful

painting on the ceiling. “This is lovely thank you Allen”

“You’re welcome love”“Yes – reservation for Hisoka” he says as the host show us to our seats.

Allen pulls out my chair for me as I sit down. “Now that I think about it I haven’t heard your last

name before today.”“What will you be having today miss” the waiter ask as I hand him the menu. “The French

breakfast please” “And you sir” “the Japanese breakfast” “and to drink” “coffee decaf” “sir”

“same thank you” “will that be all” ‘yes thank you” Allen says and the waiter walks away.“Miso soup and coffee really” I ask

“Yes I like it or not really I just like the smell old times”

“Oh right you lived there as a kid”

“Yes but the rice omelet will be good”“So you do eat”

“Yes I do but it’s different for me”

“So how does it all work the whole live longer thing?”“It has to do with marriage and all that stuff so I doesn’t freak you out”

“No but its new it takes some time to get used to it makes you I don’t know it makes you hotter I

guess”“Okay, so it’s okay if I burn you I guess” he says with a smile

“No not cute” I say as are food comes”



We eat in silence until about 10 minutes in to breakfast then he asks me what I’m thinking.

“I was just thinking that when you a girl like myself and others when you young your fathers the

one you turn to then you get a little older and he gets other things to do and then you turn toyour brother or your mother and I turned to my brother because my mother was working and still

is but then you both grow up and you either fend for yourself or you find and I finally found you

“Yes Allen out with it”“I’ve never done this god help me’ Allen says to himself. “ I was going to wait till Christmas

but”“Allen what do you want I’m getting nervous” Allen stands up and gets down on one knee.

“Yes Allen yes I will” I say as I jump up to hug him. “Yes I love you”“I was going to wait a few weeks so the rings at home the moment was just so perfect I couldn’t

sound We need to be married first love and we need to tell you brother and mom first because I

“Okay call your mother first she can’t touch me for a different country” he says as he hands me

his cell.“Hello” my mother picks up her phone “hello mom”

“Hello ebony I’m in Greece I’m in a meeting what do you need”

“Mom mother I’m getting married”

“YOU’RE WHAT!” she yells “to whom”“To Allen the best man in the world”

“Have you told your brother yet?”

“No but we’re going to right now mom” I say as Allen asks for the check.“Ebony I’ll have to call you back in a little bit honey I have to go”

“Okay mom love you bye”

“Thank you” Allen says to the waiter hands him the check.“Your welcome and congratulations”says the waiter

“Thank you”

Allen pays and offers me his arm as we leave and the door man congratulates us and opens the

car door for me once again as we depart.



Ch. 9 Fun before marriage

Allen and I arrive home about an hour later and Nat's still sleeping so so Allen decides to go to

the ice rink and watch while I'm hard at work. As I'm right in the middle of my routine my coach

yells at me to re-do my triple and I fall flat on my ass every time and once again my back hurtsand my ankles are swollen and I'm pissed off to no return, so yell at my coach which only

happens when I haven’t been doing well and that’s been like 3 years now so I get off the ice as

fast as I can and run to the locker room crying.

“ebony honey, ebony love pleas let me in” Allen yells through the door.“hold on Allen” I say through my tears

“whats wrong baby what hurts” he say rubbing my back “everything”

“okay love its okay” he says as I lean my head on his shoulder. My coach comes walking in and

just stands there for a minute. “okay ebony we’re taking the next few days off then because you

need a break okay” “I'm not talking to you right now” I reply “okay Ebony whatever. Hello whoare you this is a closed practice.” “yes coach he is aware of that I let him in Allen this is coach,

coach this is Allen” “oh hello Allen, how do you 2 know each other” “she doesn't know love”

“no she doesn't know babe” I say with anger in my voice as I gesture to he to talk.“don’t know what “

“well we have been together for what a year now”Allen explains

“can I tell her love or no”“go right ahead I don’t care”

“oh so you’re her boyfriend I didn’t know she even dated or are you the boy that moved in”

“yes I am the boy that moved but I'm also ebony’s fiancé” he explains politely“oh wow big news that’s great you guys many blessings”

“thanks coach you would know if we spent time together off the ice like we used to and Allen if

you could be so kind to help me with my skates here stuck”

“yes love” he says while picking up one foot. “wow this is totally stuck ill un-lace it”“okay babe owww thank you I say taking my foot back while he starts to take care of the other

skate.

“oh my goodness baby are you okay” Allen say in horror as he looks at my feet which areswollen and bleeding from rubbing the inside of my socks and boots.

“ya happens all the time hon its okay”

“om my god ebony you should have told me I could show you how to rap your feet”“I did try raping my feet it hurts to skate that way so no”

“then ill have your skates lined with something love cause I have never seen you feet like this”

“ no no I'm fin I needed new skates anyway its been over 6 months okay anything else coach

before I leave”



“ya I have tickets to NHK you want to attend for a little attention”

“ya that would be great where is it this year”

“its in Tokyo”“no way that’s great”Allen says

says as he gives me a kiss that makes me giggle a little.

****Allen and I get home he raps up my feet and sets me on a stool in the kitchen. We start to make

dinner (well Allen starts to make dinner I'm just cutting the vegetables) when Nat comes in with

his friends. “They staying for dinner Nat?”

“yeah what’s for dinner?”Nat looks at Allen then at me and my feet. “what happened to your feetyour not…are you that’s like the only reason I can think you feet would be swollen”

“NO! God Nathan no and even if i were.... also we’re having curry stew”

“what I don’t get it” Allen asks all confused as Nat walks out of the room.

“he thought I was prego. because all the women in the family seem to get swollen feet withinlike the first week of it, when they’re prego

****We all sat down to dinner and Allen and i sat next to each other at the table. Allen had his hand

on my leg because he nervous beyond belief after what my brother said earlier, not that he thinks

I'm pregnant but he thinks my brother may want to kill him if we tell him right now. “It’s okay

baby we can wait till tomorrow to tell him” I say as my leg starts to hurt. “Allen calm down mylegs are in pain as it is. Please, just calm down” I say as we walk in to the kitchen to clean up

dinner “By the way you’re a really good cook that totally turns me on” I say as Allen picks me

up and sets me on the kitchen counter to kiss me. I spread my legs as I put my arms around hisneck and I pull him closer to me for a kiss. I start slide my hands down his back and up his shirt.

His breath becomes shallow and fast as he pulls me closer to him. We hear Nat and his friends

leave ‘ is this really happening?’i think to myself. I get lost in his kisses until i hear him ask “Areyou alright love?” I giggle from his breathe on my neck. “yeah I’m fine. I just feel a little

nervous is all” “your feet must be killing you let me take you up stairs” “okay Allen” I say as I

comb my fingers in his soft hair. He picks me up and takes me to his room. After he layes medown and made sure I was comfortable as could be he asked “anything else i can do for you?”

“well there is one thing” I said blushing. “and what would this one thing be?” I pulled him in for

a kiss and released his neck reluctantly but he comes back for more. “I love you” he said looking

into my eyes. “I love you too Allen” I said as he gets up from the bed to get something but i pullhim back down on top of me. “come on you know what i want silly.” I start to pull off his shirt

but It gets caught around his neck so I pull on it harder. he starts to take off my shirt. I try to take

off his pants but I get stuck at his belt and he takes over. As we undress ourselves he’s done before me as I walk over to the night stand to get him a condom he comes up behind me and

takes off my bra, picks me up and sets me on the bed, he slides my thong off and slides two

fingers inside me and i inhale sharply. “oh god Allen we shouldn’t be doing this right now wecan move up the wedd-” I get cut off as I bite down on my lip from pleasure. he puts the condom

on and kisses me. “what was that you were saying?” he asked. “Never-mind what I was saying. I

want you now! Ohhh god Allen hurry up I cant wait much longer! And be gentle you're my first”

I say “that's really hot” he replies as he slides into me, i feel this massive amount of pain which is



quickly replaced by pleasure “oh god Allen your so good!” “your so tight and wet love! just

relax and I'll take care of everything lovely.” Allen starts pumping and i cry out with sheer

pleasure not knowing how much more i could take. Not knowing my own body moved this way,not knowing i could love someone so much. “ A-Allen I love you aah, so much” I moan biting

mouth. I bite down and i can tell he’s almost at his peek. Then out of no were i reach mine and i bite down on his finger so hard it starts to bled. “sorry babe it was that or scream” i say sucking

the blood from his finger. “that's okay, here you lips bleeding” he says as he leans farther in me

and reaches his peek and sucks on my bottom lip removing the blood as he pulls out and laysdown next to me. He pulls me to his chest as i kiss him. “that, you were so...great babe” i say as

he kisses my forehead. “so were you love and for your fist how was that ” “much better than i

thought i love you so much” i say as i fall asleep in his arms.

****I wake up later and the rooms lit with early morning sun. I’m still in Allen’s arms and i look at

him and he stares into my eye’s. “good morning love I was wondering when you would get up”

“I'm up a little stiff from sleeping curled up like this but I'm up” “believe me its not from

sleeping like that, you always sleep like that” he says as I move in closer to him and laying myhead on his chest and wrapping my arms around him. “ebony i couldn't find you so- oh my god

I'm sorry” my brother says as he walks in. Allen and i sit up, i scramble to cover myself. Nat juststands there in shock. “Get out idiot!” i say as i through a pillow at him. “Good God don't you

knock!” I yell at him. “Sorry i didn’t know you were...” Nat says through the door. “ya well

maybe you should knock especially when I'm with Allen in His Room jack ass!”

I head down stairs while Allen gets ready for work. I walk into the kitchen and Nat just looksup from his news paper “morning” I say. “morning” he replies which i know he wants to talk to

me but, wants to wait till Allen's out of the house. i go over to the cabinet and pull out a box of

cereal and pour myself a bowl (no milk yuck) and sit down next to Nat. “so anything new in thethe news?” i ask trying to break the silence. “yes, plenty, and I think you know what i mean by

plenty of new, news” he says giving me the big brother look. “yes and it can wait till Allen’s

gone. got it, Nat” i say glaring at him as Allen walks in and kisses me on the cheek “morninglove, and Nat . I'm off to work. Also Ebony got news my house is done i can move out. I'm going

to be there after work so just swing by love” he says picking up his keys and walking out of the

house. “okay Nat what did you want to talk about” “you know exactly what i want to talk aboutE” “okay” I say wondering what exactly he wants know. “i know you guys have been together

but your young okay please tell me you use the pill at least” he says not wanting to have this

conversation. “No but we use protection god Nat you want to know anything else like how many

times a week” I say giving him the evil look and he just stares at me. “Really a week?” he asks ashe gives me the you-better-say-it look. “god Nat gross. it was the first time and you weren’t

home last night okay god” I say as he asks questions. “so are you moving in with him E” “Well

I'd like to, yes” “okay after he gets home I'd like to talk to you guys together ” “Fine” i sayknowing that Allen's not going to let me get out of telling him about the engagement.

i walk over to Allen's new house and there, I look at a house that looks like it was never beentouched by fire. As i ring the door bell i hear Allen run down the stairs “coming hold on!” Allen

says as he opens the door and steps out, closing the door behind him. “okay love this is special

for you so close your eyes. it’s not exact but its pretty close now open your eyes. everything on

the first floor is the old make of this house and everything up stairs is just like your house except



your room and mine. I took out the wall that you have at your house so, now its a huge master

and the maid stairs open up to the hall instead of between the two rooms. We can go shopping

for a bed and other things later, okay love” “Yeah Allen” i say a little quietly. “whats wronglovely, you don’t like it” “no i love it and how much thought you put into it. its just I’m scared to

tell Nat about us that’s all” “why would you be scared of that?” “cause he wants to talk to us

when im done over here” i explain to him. “oh okay then lets head over there right now then”“no lets wait a little bit” i practically beg him. “and do what ebony there’s no couches or

anything at all yet.” he says as we leave his house.

ch.10 telling big brother

“Hey Nat, Ebony said that you wanted to talk with us but, she went to go do something i don't

know what. She said she would be down in a sec. so anything you want to talk about with me

while we wait for her”“yeah actually i was hoping we could have a minute. if i know ebony she’s sitting in her room

waiting a little while to avoid something.”

“yeah your probably right. so what up man”

“I just wanted to say I’m sorry about this morning i should have knocked. Also its not my business but i need to clear my head a little so you and ebony... first time right?”

“ya man and we used protection too so you can feel better about that too”“and also this is probably none of my business but have you slept with anyone else you don't

have to tell me if you don’t want man”

“No I’ll tell you its okay i know how much you care for her.Yes, there was one other girl but

she’s long gone and if you have to know i have been tested for everything ,just because i was adrunk kid and didn’t know her well so, you can be sure she’s safe. Nat i really do love your sister

so i wont hurt her i can swear on my life for that”

“that’s good to know man thanks i feel better now. if you could please go get her she wont listento me if i tell her to come down here”

“yeah Nat ill go get her i need to grab something while I'm up there any way be right back”

****Allen walked in my room holding a small box and once again got on one knee went through all

the motions. “i know you already said yes but i have the ring so...ebony love will you marry me”

“yes Allen yes i will” “love are you ready to go and tell him” “yeah” i say in a daze looking atthe ring as we walk down the stairs. Allen had to catch me at the bottom i almost fell down the

stairs because i wasn't looking at where i was going. “love if you don't look away from the ring

you might not have to tell your brother i think he’ll figure it out for himself.” “oh yeah sorry its

just so beautiful”We walk in to the living room and Nat just looks up at us before he starts talking. “okay so i

have covered all the bases so I'm just going to say be careful that's it you can leave”Nat says.

“No Nat me and Allen have two things to tell you actually”“oh what is it”

“Well Nat i did this a little backwards i should have come to you first but oh well to late so here

goes”Allen says a little scared of what might happen.“Allen and i are going on vacation this summer before college”

“oh that’s cool good for you and whats number two”

“well this” I say as i hold out my hand to show him the ring which is a silver band with 3 large

stones 2 black and one red in the middle and dozens of small diamonds around the 3 larger ones.



“that’s great ebony i like the new ring you bought”

“Nat no I-am-gett-ing-marri-ed-to-Allen” i say it slowly so it has some time to sink in and he

knows I'm not kidding with him.(what a jack ass)“wait what your...okay that's huge... i see hhhmm...now i feel bad about grilling you guys earlier

ha”

“that's okay Nat so anything you want to say and or do to us” i say a little scared of whats goingto happen, knowing it hasn't actually connected in his brain.

“yes actually...”Nat says getting up and looking me in the eye then picking me up and swinging

me around. “my little sisters getting married”“Not the reaction i was looking for. Well better than what had in mind lovely.”Allen says

surprised

“NAT PUT ME DOWN!!” i yell because i think i may be sick if he doesn't.

“sorry” he says as he sets me down and i fall over into Allen's arms.“come here man” Nat say trying to get Allen's attention

“what oh what sorry”Allen says looking at my brother a little embarrassed from staring in my

eye and not paying attention.

“my god you guys are smitten. come here man” Nat says giving Allen one of those bro hugthings.”hey you two love birds lets go out to eat on me”

“that's all you ever think about is food” i say looking at him in disbelief that he really just saidthat.

“i cant help it I'm hungry besides you have him and i have food”

We got to the restaurant and Nat ordered a huge plate but Allen and i had just eaten so wewatched him eat while we shared a Carmel milkshake 1950’s style when Nat was done and we

were tired we retired to the house to watch a movie. “what do you love birds want to watch” Nat

asked as he picked a movie from his collection some action movie “Nat i think you and i canwatch that some other time i know ebony doesn't like action movies” Allen say politely “here

Nat my personal collection” i say handing Nat a red shoe box of movies i like to watch. “Therese

are all fantasy the only good movie in here is labyrinth.”(what can i say i like my forbiddenromance and David Bowie) “then labyrinth it is Nat put it in. that's okay right Allen”i ask “yeah

where do you think i got my hair, well similar to it at least” we all sat down to the movie. I lay

my head on Allen's legs as the movie starts i fall asleep in less than 5 minuets into the movie. iwake up in the middle of the masquerade ball seen my favorite,part, Nat's gone and Allen's still

watching the movie and stroking my hair. “ hi sleepy head” “oh hi oh this is my favorite part can

you rewind it a little” i ask “sure love. i still wonder how you sleep through the noise” “i have no

idea how i do it ether.” And then i must have fallen asleep again, because i later woke up in adark room with my face buried in Allen's shirt with his arms encircling me. “are you awake” i

whispered in his ear. “love what are you doing?! Don’t! you cant it’s... Nooooo!” Allen screams

as sits up flinging me off the bed. “I’ll take that as a no” I say as i get up and sit down on the bed.“Allen...Allen babe it’s me I'm okay its all right wake up” i say as his eyes flash open he looks at

me in terror then looking around panicked as he pulls me to him and just sits there rocking us

back and forth. “she’s okay, she’s okay she’s here with me.” he whispers to himself like its nottrue so i look up at him and he’s barley there so i just talk to him guessing what he is doing he

does because of what happened to his parents. “Allen Allen I'm okay I'm here, you and i are

fine” And he seems to snap out of it completely not even knowing what happened the past 5

minuets. “what was that Allen what were you dreaming?” i ask concerned “i was dreaming that



you... I don't know i cant remember really... you were there and then you disappeared I cant

recall what I was seeing before I woke up” “Allen you were shaking and rocking back and forth

repeating ‘she’s okay she’s okay she’s here with me’ what was all of that?” a month or two went by and he never did it again but i still wounder what he was seeing on that blank canvas we call

dreams and nightmares.
