description

Bruce James Talbert (1838-1881) is considered to have been one of the most influential figures of the British Aesthetic Movement. He was one of the "earliest professional furniture designers to become known internationally" according to The Oxford Companion to the Decorative Arts. By the late 1860s he had become a much sought after industrial designer and was producing an imaginative variety of designs not only for furniture, but also textiles, metalwork, stained glass, and (of course) wallpaper for some of Britain's finest manufacturers. We are very excited to offer our very first suite of wallpapers designed by B. J. Talbert, in their original Aesthetic Movement palette of sage, gold, soft blue, cream and russet.
