WFP activities in Somalia are of very different nature. This service request is focused on themonitoring and assessment of the draught mitigation measures that have been carried outduring the second half of 2015 in seven different locations: Biyomane, Booramo, Dahir Ogle,Dindinta, Dofarey, Miirsaare and Tuur. Constructions include Water catchment/pans and soilbunds and stone lines. See table below for further details. The core users of the map is UN World Food Programme (WFP). The potential additionalusers of the map are any other authorities involved in in-field operations. The scope of the service request is to monitor advances made in the implementation of localhumanitarian recovery construction projects in Somalia, in particular drought mitigationmeasures and to assess their impact on the surrounding vegetation recovery.

The present map shows basic topographic features such as transportation, hydrography, physiography, population and landcover, with special focus on the drought mitigationmeasures WFP´s built during the second half of 2015, and any other related features foundat the surrounding of the the previously listed seven locations in Somalia. These basictopographic features are derived from public datasets, refined by means of visualinterpretation of post-event image: SPOT 6.All satellite images have been radiometrically enhanced and georeferenced. The estimated geometric accuracy of this product is 3 m CE90 or better, from nativepositional accuracy of the background satellite image. The estimated thematic accuracy of this product is 85% or better, as it is based on visualinterpretation of recognizable items on very high resolution optical imagery.Only the area enclosed by the Area of Interest has been analyzed.
