Coach UpdateBy Matt Brown
What a great season we have had so far! Congratulations to Nikita Rubocki for getting the BK Record in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:01.51 in last week’s swim meet.
We are heading towards the end of our swim season with 20 State qualifiers! There are a few more swimmers that are very close. As a team we need to continue to work hard at practice and remember the goals that you have set for the season. If you have met your goal already make a new!
This is the time to really focus on your techniques before District and State. It will be important to perfect starts and turns too. It will be necessary to get plenty of rest and good nutrition for the last few weeks of swim team. We need a healthy team going into Districts and State! Cont. pg. 2

Water Polo is going absolutely fantastic so far! We have taken so many strides and I can already see players getting better and better every week! In addition to getting better as individuals, the team as a whole has been able to bond and gel together, working like one big unit! Adam and Bryce are both doing fantastic jobs in guiding us in the right direction, and are preparing us for one of our biggest goals, a state championship! - Love, Michael
As the season has progressed, I've seen a lot of hard work and effort, which has propelled us to yet another great season. I'm incredibly proud of the men's and women's team results, which have been nearly flawless, and of the steady stream of state qualifiers. As championship season descends upon us, it is important to remember the little things in practice that can differentiate a successful season from a disappointing one. The amount of improvement I have seen this season from all of you has been astonishing, and I am

Let us ask ourselves this question. What is the definition of a Christian athlete? My definition is one who puts God before a sport. We can do this by saying a prayer before a race, by giving the race to God, when we win a race giving the glory to God, not ourselves, and if we lose being humble and thankful for the bodies and talents that we have. This can be especially hard for swimmers, I know all too well.Continued page 2

Lastly, the coaches and I are very excited to celebrate the seniors at Senior Night this Tuesday! We look forward to spending time with the team outside of the pool. Go Knights!

Captain’s Corner cont. from pg 1 entirely confident that we all can achieve our goals, both team and individual. Additionally, it is important to remember to be a phenomenal team member, which is something we pride ourselves about at BK. After all, swimming is a team sport, and we are all Knights! Let's keep up the determination and great work to finish the season strong!
