HELLO!

jeff & casey

Page 2: Birthmother Letter

We met over five years ago thanks to a mutual friend. Having both recently moved to California, we had

a great time exploring our new surroundings and be-coming involved in our community. We love sharing our home with friends and family, inviting everyone over for game nights, brunch, and football Saturdays.

Our relationship is incredibly strong and loving. We work very hard to make sure each of us knows how appreci-ated and cared for the other is. We cherish our time together and make an effort to connect even on short walks in the neighborhood or while grabbing a snack at the local bakery.

We’re blessed to come from very loving and supportive families, both married over forty

years. Casey’s parents, Mary Jo and Jerry, and sister, Paige, use any excuse to visit and couldn’t be more excited to welcome a grandchild. Jeff’s mom, Dorothy, retired after 30 years of teach-ing, and spends most of her time traveling to see Jeff’s five siblings and her many grandchildren. We look forward to trips home for special events and holidays. It’s always a whirlwind of family games, splashing in the swimming pool, and BBQs in the back yard.

We’ve built an incredible network of friends who are ecstatic for a new addition to the bunch. Sev-eral have recently started families of their own, and we’ve quickly become the go-to babysitters. There will be no shortage of birthday parties, picnics, and play dates in the park near our house.

Casey is loving, outgoing, and amazes me ev-ery day with the little things he remembers

and does for others. As an account manager for a software firm, he acts as a client advocate, making sure his clients’ voices are heard. Like his father, he is a family man and has an incredible way with kids. He loves games, reading the news-paper, and is amazing in the kitchen. A top-notch running stroller is already at the top of his shopping list. I have no doubt he’ll be the dad coaching little league, helping out with homework, and pro-viding unwavering encouragement.

Casey always puts family first. “

The entire Harvey family!

Jeff loves a good camping trip.

Jeff is an incredibly caring, smart, and dynamic person. His constant love and affection help me con-tinually strive to be a better partner and friend. At work as a digital media manager, his success comes

from seeing both the big picture and the tiny detail. He loves event planning, a skill that many loved ones have put to use for weddings, baby showers, and parties. His ability to engage and entertain children is limitless, and I can’t wait to see him with a child of our own, pushing the swing, building pillow forts, and playing hide-and-seek.

Coming from very strong family backgrounds, we’ve witnessed the incredible bond that decades of

marriage creates and are excited to watch our fam-ily grow and evolve. We feel strongly about creating a safe and comforting home where he or she can be free to explore and learn. The most important thing we can do is foster a space where our child can be themselves, explore their unique talents, and know above all else that they are loved. We can’t wait to archive every mo-ment, large and small. We are even looking forward to the little “uh-ohs”, the scratched knees, and sleepless nights that parenthood brings. Along the way we hope to instill in our child the importance of a loving fam-ily and friends, awe and respect for the world around them, and a sense that anything is possible.

ON PARENTING

We’re so excited to start a“ family and share our lives with our child.”

We are very lucky to live in San Francisco, where we’re fifteen minutes from the beach and thirty min-

utes from the redwoods. Our home is a short walk from Golden Gate Park where we look forward to watching our child learn, grow, and play. We love camping and backpacking throughout the Pacific Northwest and year-round hikes all over the Bay Area. Back at home, we enjoy playing games or catching a concert in the park. We love the charm and energy of our vibrant neighborhood, with its galleries, restaurants, and local shops. We can’t wait to watch our child discover the world from the lively strolls in the city to the many nights around a campfire with s’mores and ghost stories.
