My name is Chris Kesterson I am a senior at Tennessee Technological University. I realized during my junior year at tech that after several major changes that I really wanted to be in the biology field. After taking a few classes trying to decide where I wanted to be, I decided that I really enjoyed my microbiology classes, especially the lab portion. This is why decided to take up the microbiology option. So far I am glad that I have chosen this option, the classes that I have taken are going to give me a great background for my future career. Which I am wanting to work in a hospital laboratory running tests for different things. I will actually be graduating this December with my bachelor’s degree from Tennessee Tech, with the hopes of getting a job here in Cookeville at the hospital.

As a graduating senior, who has worked thirty-five or more hours a week since I started school, I have not had much time to be a part of any organization or club. If I had the time and could do it over again I would have tried to join the Tri-Beta club. Tri-Beta would be the best one for me for two reasons. The first reason is that it is a Biological honor society, which means that you must be able to achieve and maintain good grades, which looks good on a resume`. The second reason would be for the networking of people through meetings and research. Getting to know these people can help increase my chance of getting a job that I want when I graduated.
