Jackie spent her first year of high school in Holton-Arms School in Washington D.C. in her first year she transferred to Miss Porter’s then she returned to Washington to go to college and became an inquiring photographer for The Washington Times-Herald. This required her to ask questions to people inWashington take their picture and write about them in the news paper, this is what led her to John F. Kennedy.

Studies and Education

•Jackie graduated in June 1947 from Miss Porter’s School •One of her teachers, Miss Platt, thought Jackie was “a darling child, the prettiest little girl, very clever, very artistic, and full of the devil. She was efficient and finished her work on time and then had nothing to do until her classmates finished theirs.”•She studied French and became quit good at it. During her sophomore year she saw a notice on the bulletin board about a junior year exchange program in Paris, France. She was accepted and applied right away.

Life as First Lady

•On January 20th,1961 John F. Kennedy became the nation’s 35th president. At age 31,Jacqueline Kennedy was now known as the 35th first lady of the U.S.. With her gracious personal style and her passion for history and the art’s, she worked hard to be worthy of her role. While she had a deep sense of obligation to her country, her first priorities were to be a good wife to her husband and mother to her children. One time she told a reporter that “if you bungle raising your children, I don’t think whatever else you do well matters very much.”

Defining Moments

Jackie had many defining moments in her life, but in my opinion two tragedies really shaped her. She went through some hard times balancing her time spent with her kids, helping John with his campaign, and restoring the White House. She suddenly found out that everything was going to change with the unexpected assassination of her husband, and later on in life the tragic death of her son John who accidentally crashed his plane into the Atlantic Ocean on his way to a family vacation in Martha's Vineyard.

Much of Jackie O’s life was formed when she was a younger girl in elementary school she would watch her mother get ready for work in the morning before school and wanted to be just like her. She was very smart and beautiful. Her teachers would say that she would have a very bright future ahead of her.

•Classical Music was the main music that Jackie O listened to some of her most favorite composers were John Cage and Olivier Messiaen• Some popular trends were dressing nicely which wasn’t hard for Jackie because she had so much style. She would put something so simple together and turn it into something you never thought possible.•She would always be someone that people would remember by her creative sense of style.

•Assassination of President Kennedy on November 22nd 1963 in Dallas, Texas.•Cuban Missile Crisis in 1961.•In 1963 the people of NASA renamed the space center of Florida to The Kennedy Space Center in honor of the president who put America on the path to the moon.

Jackie O and the White House

With Jackie’s creative and artistic ways of being she restored the White House into a more welcoming and comforting place to visit and have a good time in.

Jackie also very disliked being called first lady she preferred Mrs. Kennedy.

Being the first lady gave her many chances to make good changes that would makes things better for her husbands campaign and to do something good.

Major Contributions

Jackie tried to do good deeds for everything or anyone that she could do something good for.By restoring the White House into a Museum she made the White House a more interesting place to learn about.She also had a fashion sense that no one else had she had a particular style that made her stand out from everyone else she stuck out like a sore thumb but in a good way. She was just being herself and everyone wanted to be like her.

Major Contributions to Society

Jackie was a role model to women across the nation and still is we look up to her and say "after all that poor lady went through in her life we can get through a lot as well” we look up to her and think we can be anybody we want to be just stay true to yourself and believe that you can do anything. One of my true favorite quote of Jackie's is, "I have been through life and suffered a great deal, but I have had happy moments, as well. Every moment one lives is different from the other. The good, the bad, hardship, the joy, the tragedy, love and happiness are all interwoven into one single, indescribable whole that is called life. You cannot separate the good and the bad, and perhaps there is no need to do so."

• Jackie's sense of style made her a fashion icon so many women wanted to be her and wanted to dress just like her.•She was known for her proper ways, manners , and elegance. •She was a preserver so she believed in restoring items instead of demolishing things or throwing things away. She stopped Grand Central Station from being demolished.

Lasting Historical Impact

• She left a legacy of her sense of style • She was a role model for many women of the Nation she was an example of a great wife , mother , and overall person• Jackie was dubbed “The Debutant of the Year” for the 1947-1948 season, but her social success did not keep her from continuing her education• She wrote many books on self experience which won her many awards .

The Legacy of Jackie O

Jackie was such an amazing women who did so many amazing things that changed our nation and she couldn’t have done it without the great support from her family and friends. After her death in 1994 all the women of the nation kept on the legacy of Jackie because she was such a fantastic women that we should always look up to.
