A force within the Symphonic Pops genre, Janice

Martin's performances have captivated and thrilled audiences with the New York Times and Washington Post calling her performances "brilliant" and "splendid" where "perfection was never in question”. As a pops sensation, Janice wowed millions of viewers in 2009 as a finalist on NBC’s America’s Got Talent with her aerial violin and vocal performance, and her playing has been featured on television projects for the Discovery and History Channels as well as on the big screen in the Miramax film Paperclips. Her orchestral solo engagements have included The Cleveland Pops, Milwaukee Symphony, The European Union Chamber Orchestra, Philadelphia Pops Symphony, The New York Symphonic Ensemble (including their 2000-2007 Japan tours), Olomouc Simphonie, and Pilsen Philharmonic.

She is a frequent guest performer with Cirque de la Symphonie. Performing for tens of thousands annually at the Silver Dollar City’s Showboat Branson Belle, her shows feature her many talents as violinist, pianist, vocalist, and astounding aerial acrobat artist with her choreographed aerial violin feats.

Janice has been a winner of a number of prestigious competitions among them, Washington International Competition, the Young Artist International Competition, and the Career Award Graft from the Commission on the Arts & Sciences of the National Endowment for the Arts. Janice was also honored as a recipient violinist of the Stradivari Society of Chicago to play the 1708 Burstein-Bagshawe Stradivarius violin.

Serving her country, Janice enlisted in the United States Army for three years performing as the premiere violin soloist for presidential performances at the White House, the Capitol, and the State Department. Janice attributes her Army boot camp rope climbing training in helping her to overcome a fear of heights and embrace aerial acrobatics. As a multi-dimensional crossover artist, Janice has worked with such composers as Steven Stuckey, Charlie Barnett (who wrote her “Concerto in Fourths”), David Bixler, Benjamin Martin, Uli Geissendoerfer, and Brandon Terzic. She has also performed with jazz great Larry Willis, Julia Nixon, David Ylvisaker, Willbilly, PV The Rap Artist, and the Bob Pyle Band. She also participated in projects with New River Media, Billy Kemp Productions, the Discovery and History Channels, and the Miramax film “Paperclips”. She also co-created and co-starred with fiddler Frank Leahy in “An Unlikely Affair” and has been a featured guest on numerous local television and radio stations around the country.

Competitions Janice was honored as a recipient violinist of the Stradivari Society of Chicago in 1999, when she was awarded the beautiful 1708 "Burstein-Bagshawe" Stradivarius violin.
