Bioethics is ComplexInclude knowledge related with

anthropology, sociology, biology, medicine, religion, psychology, and philosophy (Macer 2006)

Include awareness on the important of lives, environment, and people other than yourself

The most important is the awareness to God.

Require not only “Sense” but also “Sensibility” to analyze (Devos 2008)

The Implications of Bioethics Complexity

We need experiences and practices To understand bioethics

Understanding bioethics from early age will give us better chances to practice and experience bioethics issues

Page 6: Bioethics Goes to School Animated

The Problem is… Who is the appropriate subject

learner to study bioethics in early age?

How to make material studies easy to understand by youngster

How to teach that materials?

Page 7: Bioethics Goes to School Animated

Why Must Senior High SCHOOL STUDENTS?

The senior high school students are mature enough in formal thinking (Piaget developmental theory)

In Indonesia, bioethics is taught as separate subject only in several universities. In high schools, bioethics is part of the teaching of biology.

The game’s rules

Page 14: Bioethics Goes to School Animated

I’m environmentalistI’m scientist

• This game is started by deciding the order of the players using dice.

• Each group will play by turns based on the number on the dice from the first square.

Page 15: Bioethics Goes to School Animated

• We need a moderator to moderate the statements.

I moderate your statementsRoll the dice!!

Page 16: Bioethics Goes to School Animated

• Landing on white square or same color square means no argument to be given

7

Page 17: Bioethics Goes to School Animated

• Landing on different color square means you have to deliver opinion in a view

5In the scientist view,

GMO is fine because bla bla bla

…That sounds logical.

Page 18: Bioethics Goes to School Animated

• Meeting black arrow (ladder) means to move upstairs

8Ninja!

Page 19: Bioethics Goes to School Animated

• Later on…

1

My turn!

How’s that possible? O_O

• Meeting a yellow arrow (snake) means to move downstairs

=(

>_<

• If player fail to give opinion, they have to move one square back.

So your opinion is…?

I have no idea

Page 20: Bioethics Goes to School Animated

• Really later on…

6

Give me 5 and I’ll win!

• Should the dice exceed the number required to reach 100th box, you have to go back.

Page 21: Bioethics Goes to School Animated

• The winner is the fastest player to reach the 100th box

7

=D T_T Hooray!!So close…
