• 95% of Postgraduate and 61% of

undergraduate medical institutions did not

teach bioethics

• 35% institutions surveyed had an Ethical

Review Committee

• 27% medical educational institutions had a

Hospital Ethics Committee

• Inauguration at the Sindh Institute

of Urology and Transplantation

Karachi in October 2004
