It shows that 20 of the 41 had developed enabling policy measures to foster their strategic aims of economic development.

What does this show?

Of 41 countries analysed, 26 had notidentified any conflicting goals for sustainability safeguards.

This gives us an idea of what is there, but not how it is implemented and with which outcomes.

What do we know now that we didn’t know before?

We knew ´ that many countries had developed Bioeconomy strategies and

related policy frameworks,´ that they were often related to their endowment with natural

resources, ´ and that they were embedded into an overarching national policy

framework for the development of their economies, of which the bioeconomy is one part.
