BIO
I
Michael B. Metzger
Not your typical biography, but I felt that Paul Harvey’s…“and now you know The Rest Of The Story,” provides abetter glimpse into my persona.
n the 80’s I decided to create a software program that would benefit teachers and students alike;the perfect testing program and the ideal learning tool in one complete package. It took lessthan three days to develop and several months to program, but in a relatively short period of
time, “Pop-Quiz” was born. The structure of the database was the key element. You enter aquestion once and you can get it back in seven different formats: true/false, matching, short answer,fill-in the blanks, multiple choice, flash cards, and reverse flash cards. Pop Quiz was purchased bynumerous universities and colleges, mass merchandisers, businesses, teachers and students. Todate, no other software training program has come close to Pop Quiz.
In the 90’s I was reading a newspaper article that described how Wal-Mart was ahead of all othercompanies in training their employees. I had not spoken with anyone from Wal-Mart since theirpurchases of the “Ginsu” knife around 1981, but within a year I introduced a new program intoWal-Mart to better train their employees. I was paid to train the country’s best trainers, and I wasa speaker at their National meetings. I also introduced an additional program into thousands oftheir stores.
In the 00’s, while at the beach with my family, I said, “let’s develop a new product.” Years later, Iintroduced “Frilon,” a new low friction fabric that received a US patent (US 7,281,549 B2). I hadno experience with fabric or any involvement in the textile industry, but my creativity and productdevelopment skills provided all that was necessary.
Now in the 10’s I focused on designing and developing Continuing Medical Education (CMEs)on-line programs that allows doctors to fulfill their requirements for on-going training. There arenow over 100 on-line programs available. I am currently working on specialty training programsfor orthopaedic surgeons that respond to disaster situations in austere environments.
Several years ago I watched a documentary on public television, on the history of TV quiz shows. The very next morning I started out on the path to create the best quizshow for television. With absolutely no borders or boundaries I began
Michael Metzger is themy quest to develop. My creative methodology is out of the ordinary, so co-founder and creative
director of d3 Creative, let’s just say that after a year and a half of heavy sweating, “When InLLC, whose primaryDoubt” was finished. A board game was created primarily for testingcharter is to deliver
purposes, but the goal was always a TV Game Show. Not just appearing innovative programson TV, but for me the success of this adventure meant network prime and products to
broadcast media andtime. All I can say is, “tune in,” and I mean that literally.mass merchandisers.
