Sustainable
Consumption and
Production (SCP)
CDA Environment Wing and NIB
NARC demonstrated the
application of SCP concept by
developing a CDA PARC Bio-
remediation Orchard to biologically
treat about 3.5 Cusec of wastewater
for Rose & Jasmine Garden irrigation
purposes.
The Bio-remediaiton technology
effectively consumes/uses domestic
wastewater nutrients to generate bio
mass (aquatic plants)
for high quality
organic compost
and clean
water for
irrigation. The
fall of treated
wastewater is
being utilized to
produce 3-4 KV for
irrigation and lighting
purposes of the Orchard. The reclaimed
water lagoons provide chance to bio-
diversity especially aquatic life to sustain and
contribute to correct environmental damages.
Aquatic plants on ponds and more than 5000
fruit plants on dikes produce fruits and fresh
oxygen. It is planned to plant 35 thousands fruit,
herbs, shrubs and ornamental plants in the
Orchard during the summer plantation season 2015.
The next step of Environment Wing CDA and NIB
NARC is to establish Food Security, Climate Change &
Bio-remediaiton Theme Park at R&J Garden for the
comprehensive demonstration of Sustainable
Environmental Themes to aware and involve residents to
adopt environment friendly life style.
CDA Environment Wing and NIB NARC has plan with the
participation of volunteers and local residents to maintain
and manage CDA - PARC Bio-remediation Orchard at
Rose and Jasmine
Garden.
The Theme for
World Environment Day 2015
The well-being of humanity, the
environment and economies
ultimately depends on the
responsible management of the
planets natural resources. Evidence is
building that people are consuming far more natural
resources than what the planet can sustainably
provide.
Many of the Earths ecosystems are nearing critical
tipping points of depletion or irreversible change,
pushed by high population growth and economic
development. By 2050, if current consumption and
production patterns remain the same and with a
rising population expected to reach 9.6 billion, we
will need three planets to sustain our way of life.
Living well within planetary boundaries is the
most promising strategy for ensuring a healthy
future.
CDA Environment Wing & NIB NARC Cerebrate
World Environment Day with You on 5th June
2015 at Pak-China Centre, R & J Garden
The celebrations include about seminar
ongoing environment protection activities and
way forward, painting competition &
