We are glad to have you worship with us.

BILLY GRAHAM’S PRAYER FOR OUR NATION

Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask

your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, “Woe to

those who call evil good,” but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual

equilibrium and reversed our values. We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery. We

have rewarded laziness and called it welfare. We have killed our unborn and called it choice. We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable…. We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem. We have abused

power and called it politics. We have coveted our neighbor’s possessions and called it ambition. We

have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression. We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment. Search us,

Oh God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from sin and set us free. Amen!

YOUTH - FALL SCHEDULE

Sunday School- We had another great discussion last week in Sunday School. Through honesty with ourselves and thge truth of the Word, we realize how far we have to go in reflecting Christ more in our daily lives. It's worth your time to commit to being here. We are discussing the difference between a Christ controlled life versus a self/wordly controlled life. We really need this as we seek to grow deeper in our faith. I love the talks we've had and your response! So get up and join us on Sunday morning at 10am in The Foundry! Wednesday Bible Study- We had our biggest night yet last week with over 80 for the 1st time! But we were still missing a lot of regulars. I don't want you to miss out on even one week with what the Lord has put on my heart to share with you! It's our best meeting time! We have great spirit-led worship and lessons every week! Please put this time on your weekly schedule and commit to being here and I know that you'll be glad you did! We will meet in the fellowship hall at 5:30 for Wednesday night Supper, then go to Worship in The Foundry, starting just after 6. After worship and lesson we will eat snack supper in The Foundry Café. Looking forward to seeing everyone!!! Prayer Breakfast- We will meet on Wednesday's again at Hardee's at 7a.m.! Please make a note of when it's your turn to do devotion. If you would like to join us and need a ride, I'll be more than happy to take you to school when we finish! 10/10/18- Cale Revell 10/17/18- Ross Minick 10/24/18- Will Minick 10/31/18- Adam Smith 11/7/18- Georgia Torbert

** We are trying to compose a youth master list and we need your info! If you're not recveiv-ing weekly text messages from me, that means I don't have your number. Please send me a text with your name and grade to 229-942-8961. I need parents numbers as well. If you don't have a cell phone, please call the church and leave your information with Lyn or Lacey, 229-924-3169. ***We still need parents and adults that are willing to serve our youth a snack supper after our Wednesday night service. We have 2/3 of our group get here after 6 because of sports and other activities that don't get here in time to eat our Wed Night supper and they're hun-gry! Please call me or the church if you'd like to help. Thanks, Johnny

Group Questions

October 10, 2018 Sermon: “Go!”: Lessons from the Gospel of Mark, Part Five Scripture: Mark 16:1-8 (NRSV)

1. Is it possible to believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus without the Easter and post-Easter appearances? 2. Mark’s resurrection story contained a beautiful statement. In Mark 16:7, the angel told Mary Magdalene and the

others, “Tell his disciples, especially Peter, that he is going ahead of you into Galilee.” Jesus’ message specifical-ly mentions Peter, who had publicly denied even knowing him, lest Peter felt he was no longer welcomed after his failure. What does this tell you about Jesus’ grace? Can you trust Jesus to treat you the same after you fail?

3. Please discuss the two efforts to close the Gospel of Mark (Mark 16:9-20). 4. Day by day, each of us is “writing” our witness to Jesus. How will you complete the “gospel” story your life tells?
