FOMZ Board of Directors Report - Bill TreadwellJuly 11,2012

• Marketing/Public Relations

o Shall the Friends adopt a new DBA: such asFriends of the Big Bear Alpine Zoo, or City of Big Bear Lake

Friends of Big Bear Zoo, or what?

o Move hosting of website for $1OO/year?Current cost is $120/year. Will include two liveweb-sites instead of just one; include three email addresses instead of two (fomz.org,moonridgezoo.org and Friends new name).

o The current website needs to be updated, again, replacing Big Bear Rescue Zoo with BigBear Alpine Zoo. Also, all display ads for newspapers and magazines replacing Rescuewith Alpine.

o Dan has offered, at no cost, to provide a couple of new website templates to review andedit any requested changes. Dan designed the new zoo logo. That look will be part of thenew website: BigBearAlpineZoo.Org (.com and .net pointing to .org)

o Going to have decals made, considering three sizes 2",3"and 4" like the bear claw sold in the Gift Shop. Theexample is close to 2" decal sizing.

o Big Bear Resort Association's Visitors Guide is going tomid-September. Can the Friends provide the 2013 List ofEvents to include in the ad, or not? In addition, deadline for10% advertising discount is July 19.

Historical cansciousness frees us from commonprejudices that whatever is newer is better orwhatever is older is better.

• Finance

• We receive $10,600+ from the estate of JulieWalker. $600+ is interest on the account duringsettlement of the estate.

o

• Relocation
