The concept – to provide cycling-related learning opportunities for children, young
people and their families
What has happened so far?
• Recruitment of a national manager, a communications officer and 8 development officers
• Based in 8 clusters across England• In post since end September 2009 –
networking with local and regional partners• 6 additional positions this spring
Working alongside other cycling initiatives
• Cycle Champions
• Bike It
• Go-Ride
• Bikeability
• Cycling Town projects
• Other local initiatives
Where is Bike Club?
Target• Over 500 Bike Clubs across the UK including:
– after-school clubs– community youth clubs– family projects– clubs working specifically supporting those under-
represented in cycling
