THE BEGGAR’S OPERA

The future’s here. It’s a brave new world, but wherever there’s a world there’s an underworld: muggers, smugglers, prostitutes, thieves. Nobody plays by the rules, least of all MacHeath. Where he goes,

trouble is sure to follow…

A dark, seedy, absurd, visually rich and cruelly comic co-production with Vanishing Point and Belgrade

Theatre Coventry, featuring new music from Alasdair Macrae and A Band Called Quinn, cutting edgeproduction design and a large cast of leading performers. This promises to be one of the most exciting

theatre events of 2009.

This show is not recommended for under 14s as it contains strong language and content of a sexual nature.Group leaders please call 0131 248 4949 and quote ‘Big Night Out’ to book.

CURSE OF THE DEMETER

The Traverse Theatre

Written by Robert Forrest, directed by Douglas Irvine

A spine tingling journey of suspense, suspicion and spooky sightings, inspired by Bram Stoker'sDracula .Visible Fictions presents the chilling and thrilling tale of the ill fated ship, the Demeter, and her ghostly cargo.

Whilst storms rage and the crew mysteriously disappear one by one, fear grows as rumours of a sinister

stowaway spreads around the remaining ship- mates. This new play will leave you sitting on the edge ofyour seat as things go bump in the night on board the jinxed ship.

For thrill seekers over 11 years…

complex inter-personal power politics also known as...the school Nativity! But this is a Nativity with a

difference…the adults play the children! Enter a hilarious, chaotic world of mishaps, misunderstandings, unrequited love, fluffed lines, fallings out, cardboard props, Christmas Carols and brazen upstagings....

"Therearemomentswhenyoumightwetyourself laughing. But it's your ownfault for not visiting the toilet first" The Guardian
