Managing the ‘People’ Risk – Getting it RightNeil Franklin, Managing Director, UK Charity Insurance

Website: www.ukcharityinsurance.co.ukEmail: [email protected]

“It was all fine until we started working with people” – howmany times have you heard, or even used, that phrase? Thething is, while having the potential to be your greatest asset, your people are also capable of causing both the mostproblems and the most damage. If you work with volunteers, you need to understand both the responsibilities and risks theybring to your organisation.

As experts in the third sector, UK Charity Insurance’s masterclass will help organisations consider the implications ofrecruiting staff and engaging volunteers. You’ll come away witha clear understanding of your role and an action plan formanaging or reducing the risks to give you the best chance ofmaking volunteering work most effectively for you. In addition, you’ll be guided through the roles and responsibilities ofperhaps the most crucial of volunteers – the trustee –exploring the impact on them as individuals and theorganisation if they fail to fulfil their roles effectively.14
