The innovative YAKKAir range that revolutionised the inflatable concept in 2009 is further embellished this year with two new models aimed at beach holiday paddling. The new wave of fishing kayaks that we set rolling a few years ago has extended itself to include 4 fully but differently fitted models. And we didn't wait for the ecology bandwagon to come along to start respecting the environment : all our rigid and semi-rigid models are and always have been recyclable.

Sustainable development : a priority for BIC Sport

In order to respect the environment, our kayaks are made in thermoformed polyethylene, a particularly ecologically friendly material, as during its production very few hazardous chemicals are used and there is no wasted material. Again in the production of the kayak, all excess material is broken down and recycled back into the production process, any gas emissions into the atmosphere are negligible and the water used for cooling is recycled.

been particularly developed for optimum paddling comfort.• The seat is roomy and comfortable, and is also inclined and padded to keep the paddler in place, and relieve leg pressure while using the foot braces.• The centre of gravity is positioned low for better stability, but above the flotation line so that the bottom of the seat stays dry. THD - Tri Hull Design : designed for funThe unique THD shape provides the optimum in speed, comfort and stability for BIC Sport Kayaks. The result of 30 years of BIC Sport watercraft design and innovation, the THD shape has been developed to provide improved gliding and stability while maintaining maneuverability. Inspired from current tri-maran designs, the THD shape features a central section (1) for increased gliding, two outside hull sections (2) to stabilize the kayak and two intermediate concaves (3) to create lift and an optimal mix of water and air for heightened performance. These designs have also been picked up on by the Observeur du Design, which has awarded BIC Sport numerous prestigious

"Etoiles du Design". These Etoiles were in recognition not only of the kayak design, but also of BIC Sport's TST

construction technology that is environmentally friendly.

The Kalao is a veritable 4x4 of the kayak world. Equally at ease on the sea or rivers, for fun or for fishing, it really is the kayak for all adventures.

Like all BIC Sport kayaks it features plenty of innovations. The fluid, stable hull design makes it simple for a family of two adults and two children to all ride together in complete comfort. That makes it the first true 3 (adult) person sit-on-top on the market, with 3 proper ergonomic seats. Essentially, the Kalao combines capacity of the old style family canoe, with the safety of a Sit-on-Top kayak!The other big first : it can be adapted to take an electric motor. The largely flat hull design with very little water draught is extremely stable and allows the kayak to go almost anywhere. Such aspects as storing your belongings while kayaking, as well as carrying and transporting your kayak have all also received detailed attention. The fishing version has numerous additional features, including : 4 rod positions, 2 large watertight boxes, plenty of storage space... One other important point : it’s unsinkable.

Fishing from a kayak is a sport that has developed rapidly in the last few years. A kayak allows you to get off the beach easily without needing a big, heavy boat. In a kayak you can go fishing where and when you want, solo or with friends.

Camouflaged colouring of green and beige helps the kayak disappear into its background. The rear storage deck with integral elastic straps allows you to carry bags or cases with extra equipment.

BIlBAOWith its very rounded hull shape and narrow tips, the Bilbao has great glide and excellent stability, guaranteeing you complete safety for your solo fishing trips. The intelligent deck design and quality fittings allow you to carry any kind of load. Its reduced length and weight make it easy to store and transport.

TRINIDADCompact but wide, the Trinidad is the kayak for double paddling. It’s a highly stable boat, designed for solo or two-person fishing trips. Like the Kalao, it’s got great storage possibilities for your fishing equipment. It can be fitted with the appropriate mountings to take a small electric motor.

kAlAOBig volume, very stable but still with good performance, the Kalao can carry up to 3 paddlers. It’s the perfect choice for fishing trips in “total comfort”. Wide storage decks plus numerous hatches and rod racks give you plenty of equipment carrying options.

yAkkA 12o ExplorErThe Yakka Fishing was conceived for people with limited space for storing their kayak. This semi-rigid design can be folded in half and takes up much less space. On the water it has superb stability for fishing expeditions in total safety. Its rigid hull gives excellent glide.

The Yakka is innovative in concept and in design. Apart from its great performance, the rigid hull / soft

deck concept gives it plenty of character and it will quickly become the perfect partner for your water adventures. The Yakka can be set up in minutes: just unfold the hull sections, secure the center support and inflate the sides. For pack-down, simply deflate the sides and fold the hull closed. Once folded, its impact-resistant hull measures only 1.50m (59”) x 76cm (30”) and the inflatable bladders are protected by the durable and smooth PVC materials. The YAKKAir range is a true revolution in inflatable kayaks. The guiding principle of these innovative boats has been the use of multiple materials in the construction to help reduce weight, plus the combination of a keel

and a high-pressure inflatable hull/floor to maximise the V effect and performance. The YAKKAir series are lighter, perform better and give a more comfortable ride than conventional inflatable kayaks as you are paddling in the dry thanks to the rigid high-pressure floor. The YAKKAir Lite2 has been designed for two person paddling, but can easily be used solo by only mounting one of the seat in the centre of the kayak, where appropriate fittings have been incorporated in the design.

Rigid stiffeners fitted inside the stern and bow tips give an excellent cutting edge through the water.
