The Colosseum was built near the site of Nero's enormous palace, the Domus Aurea, which had been built after the great fire of Rome in 64. (Some historians opine that the construction of the Colosseum might have been financed by the looting of King Herod the Great's Temple in Jerusalem which occurred about 70 A.D.). Dio Cassius said that 9,000 wild animals were killed in the one hundred days of celebration which inaugurated the amphitheatre opening.

Dear Brandon,

I am having a great time in San Antonio. It is a great city, there is so much to do. There is a river that goes through the city and a huge mall on it. And then there is the Alamo it is so interesting. Right across the street there is a Ripley’s Believe it or not connected with a wax museum it’s incredible. There a bunch of great places to eat too, especially on the river. San Antonio is the most wonderful city! Wish you were here.

It was built on the Thames by William the Conqueror to protect London and assert his power. The Tower of London – an imposing fortress with many layers of history, which has become one of the symbols of royalty – was built around the White Tower.

My last stop was in Italy. I got souvenirs from your home town. Trieste is very beautiful, I really like it here. The air is so fresh and clean. The Leaning Tower of Pisa was my next stop.
