This richness is constituted primarily of higher fungi, which include 708 species of this total fungal flora. It is divided into 48 orders, 244 genera and 119 families whose richer, have more than 20 species each: Agaricaceae (59species), Puccinaceae (56 species), Cortinariaceae (55 species), Russulaceae (41 species), Tricholomataceae (36 species), Coprinaceae (22 species), Amanitaceae (21 species), Entolomataceae (21 species), Bolbitiaceae (20 species) and Polyporaceae (20 species). The Basidiomycetes class constitutes the major part of this flora (77.65%), following by the Ascomycetes class (16.09%). These two classes account for approximately (93.74%) of total Mamora’s fungal flora. 2 INTRODUCTION Morocco is located in between the Mediterranean Sea to the north, the Atlantic Ocean to the west and the Sahara desert to the south. Thus, the relief’s orientation favors the presence of a very varied fauna and flora. This is why it attracted many mycologists in the 1930s, especially the plateau, home to the forest of Mamora (Boudy, 1951). It is an exceptional forest, characterized by a highly variable climate from the sub-humid to semi-arid and the ocean (NAAF, 2002) influences it. These conditions give rise to a rich flora in general, especially fungal. It was Mayor and Werner (1937) and Malençon (1935, 1938) who had taken the first steps to explore the heritage fungal of the forest of Mamora, but due to the war in the fourties, their works were interrruped. Therefore, apart fromsome brief information given by these mycologists, Mamora had remained largely unknown until the 1950. The first significant information collected on higher fungi of the forest of Mamora was in the last half of the previous century with the work of Mayor and Werner (1937) who had published a catalog in the Memoirs of the Society of Natural Sciences of Morocco titled "Reasoned Fungi Known to Date in Morocco". This catalog contains only undescribed species. Malençon (mycological Excursion 1935, 1936, 1938 and 1960) published four reports of monthly meetings, No. 3, 4, 5 and 8 in the Bulletin of the Society of Natural Sciences Physical and Morocco, as well as a list of Ascomycetes, Volume 7 in the Persoonia (1973) and a list of Basidiomycetes in the Journal of Mycology, Volume XXIX (1974- 1975). This work was followed by Malençon and Bertault who had published between 1960

Thus, the relief’s orientation favors the presence of a very varied fauna and flora. This is why it attracted many mycologists in the 1930s, especially the plateau, home to the forest of Mamora (Boudy, 1951). and 1970 lists of three Ascomycetes and higher Basidiomycetes (Hyménomycètes and Gastéromycètes) of the Meseta including Mamora in the Bulletin of the IS. In 1970 and 1975, Malençon and Bertault published two entitled volumes " Flore des champignons supérieurs du Maroc " where they only describes the Agaricales. In 1978 /1979, Bertault had published a series of articles on Lactario-Russulacées and Bolétacées. Other work has focused on Coprinus heterocommus var. marocainsis in the forest of Mamora (Guennon 1987), Gender Terfezia Tull, (Terfass) forest of Mamora (Khabar,

1992), the eastern and central southern Morocco (Tahiri, 1997), the main ectomycorrhizal fungi in natural and planted forests (Abourouh 2000), on Gastéromycètes (Ait Aguila et al, 2002, Ait Aguila, 2005), milk caps and Agaricus (El-Assfouri et al.,2005), Lepiota Haimed et al. 2005), Gymnopilus Suber (Outcoumit et al.,2004) and Basidiomycetes edible of the plane of the city of Kenitra (Yamni et al.,2004). The assembly of all the bibliographic data could be valuable for future studies and it is this aspect that is addressed in this work, which represents the first part of the inventory for the higher fungi of Mamora in Morocco.

3 LIST Of TAXA INVENTORIED. The adopted nomenclature is that used by the Mayor and Werner (1937), Malençon Bertault (1970 and 1975) and Bertault (1978 and 1980). This nomenclature is updated according to the 9th edition of Dictionary of the Fungi (2004 and 2005), an international literature Courtecuisse (2000) and Romagnesi (1995). Varieties and forms are also

considered. Underlined taxa not included in the 9th edition of Dictionary of the Fungi (Kirk, 2005). The current name of the species is preceded by the sign (=), and synonyms are noted. Species preceded by an asterisk have not been described by Mayor and Werner (1937), Malençon and Bertault (1970, 1975) and Bertault (1978, 1980).

4 DISCUSSION The inventory has established 752 individual species which 7 were new for science: Boletus mamorensis Redeuilh (1978), Coprinus heterocomus Malençon (1941), Cortinarius variiformis Malençon (1970), Cortinarius scobinaceus Malençon and Bertault (1970), Crepidotus eucalyptinus Mayor and Malençon 1975), Pithyophila delicatula Malençon (1975), and Russula amoenicolor f. olivacea Mayor (1978). This number is minimal because the Moroccan fungal flora has not yet revealed all its secrets. That is, the complete number of species ha s yet to be discovered as this is a new field for science or for Morocco and is certainly important especially to a lower plants that are by far the least well known. This richness of 755 taxa consists essentially of higher fungi, which include 705 species of this total

fungal flora. It is divided into 48 orders, 244 genera and 120 families richer have more than 20 species each: Agaricaceae (59 species), Puccinaceae (56 species), Cortinariaceae (55 species), Russulaceae (41 species), Tricholomataceae (36 species), Coprinaceae (22 species), Amanitaceae (21 species), Entolomataceae (21 species), Bolbitiaceae (20 species) and Polyporaceae (20 species). The Basidiomycetes class constitutes the major part of this flora (77,65%), followed by th e Ascomycetes (16.09%). These two classes account for approximately (93,74%) of th e total fungal flora of Mamora. It appears from this literature survey that the basidiomycetes (584 species) are clearly the most explored along than the Ascomycetes (121 espèces), and Myxomycetes (25 species) as these

three classes include serious parasites to the cultuvar or natural plants. On the other hand, Deuteromycetes (8 species), oomycetes (7 species), zygomycete (5 species) and Chytridiomycota (2 species), are poorly studied. The constants nomenclatural and systematic changes constitute major difficulties. That is, after this update, there have been changes in the systematics, for example, the types Bovista, Ramaria, Lycoperdon, Scleroderma and Amanita are respectively classified in Dictionary of the Fungi (2005) in the orders Agaricales, Phallales, Agaricales, Agaricales and Boletales, whereas in the old taxonomy are classified into orders Lycoperdales, Agaricales,

Lycoperdales, and Sclerodermatales Amanitales. Moreover, within the eukaryotes, the fungi (Fungi or Mycota) comprising only species to non-mobile spores of the preceding reign, and the group of flagellated unicellular and Chytridiomycota (previously classified in protists). The Myxomycetes one hand, and the oomycetes on the other, fungi are classified separately in the strict sense, but also broken in a separate phylum. Indeed, the work of systematists now takes into account not only the morphological but also molecular characters (genetic and chromosomal). Mycology is a young science and terminology still varies considerably from one researcher to another.

5 CONCLUSION It appears that the higher fungi of Morocco (Mamora) still require further studies on scientific (taxonomy, ecology, chorology), recovery (for exploitation for commercial purposes, medicinal) and conservation. There is a lack of information in this area and currently there is no national strategic taxonomy, but only a diagnosis of the situation and therefore a noticed delay compared to other countries. From this review of the literature, it is important to note that the interest given to the mycoflora of Mamora begun in the thirties. However, for Hymenomycetes, it was not until the

sixties that the first lists were published. The chronology of these studies has also slowed sharply by 1980 highlighting the low local interest granted to the identification of fungi, a situation that persists to this day. Thus, taxonomic work conducted in the forest of Mamora is far from reflecting the potential biodiversity of various groups of fungi. Nevertheless, this work is a database key to understanding the current fungal richness, while the entire Mamora remains unexplored in terms of other groups of fungi.
