    Hebrews 9:19

    19

For when Moses had spoken every precept toall the people according to the law, he took theblood of calves and goats, with water, scarletwool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book

    itself and all the people,20

saying, This is theblood of the covenant which God has commandedyou.21 Then likewise he sprinkled with bloodboth the tabernacle and all the vessels of the

ministry. 22 And according to the law almost allthings are purified with blood, and withoutshedding of blood there is no remission.

For the life of the flesh is in theblood, and I have given it to you uponthe altar to make atonement for your

souls; for it is the blood thatmakes atonementfor the soul.

Exodus 28Now take Aaron your brother, and hissons with him, from among the children of Israel, that

he may minister to Me as priest, Aaron andAarons

sons: Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar. 2 And youshall make holy garments for Aaron your brother, for

glory and for beauty. 3 So you shall speak to all who

are gifted artisans, whom I have filled with the spirit of

wisdom, that they may make Aarons garments, to

consecrate him, that he may minister to Me as priest. 4

And these are the garments which they shall make: a

breastplate, an ephod, a robe, a skillfully woven tunic,a turban, and a sash. So they shall make holy

garments for Aaron your brother and his sons, that he

may minister to Me as priest.

14 Seeing then that we have a great HighPriest who has passed through theheavens, Yeshua, Jesus the Son of God, let

    us hold fast ourconfession.15

For we donot have a High Priest who cannotsympathize with our weaknesses, butwas in allpoints tempted as we are, yetwithout sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldlyto the throne of grace, that we may obtainmercy and find grace to help in time of

    need.

Now this is the main point of the things weare saying: We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of thethrone of the Majesty in the heavens, aMinister of the sanctuary and of the truetabernacle which the Lord erected, and notman.

For every high priest is appointed to offerboth gifts and sacrifices. Therefore it isnecessary that this One also havesomething to offer.

6 Now He has obtained a more excellent

ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediatorof a better covenant, which wasestablished on better promises.

For the law, having a shadow of the good

things to come, andnot the very image ofthe things, can never with these samesacrifices, which they offer continually year

by year, make those who approach perfect.2 For then would they not have ceased tobe offered? For the worshipers, oncepurified, would have had no moreconsciousness of sins. 3 But in thosesacrifices there is a reminder of sins everyyear. 4 For it is not possible that the blood

of bulls and goats could take away sins.

26 For such a High Priest was fitting for us,

who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separatefrom sinners, and has become higher thanthe heavens; 27 who does not need daily,

as those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for thepeoples, for this He did once for all whenHe offered up Himself. 28 For the lawappoints as high priests men who haveweakness, but the word of the oath, whichcame after the law, appoints the Son who

    has been perfected forever.
