    INTRODUCTIONINTRODUCTION

Now a days managers are working harder than ever

before, running hard to stay at the same place

The individuals have lost complete sense of personal

identity and become a corporate product.

They are losing touch with themselves and their true

nature. The preoccupation with the trappings of life have

    dulled their senses.

They dont have time for their family and loved ones.

They work like machines not understanding how much

    stress their body can take.

They are caught up with the image circuit ,running madly

to reach to an unknown destination.

Their preoccupation is with getting there before the

    competitor does.

The manager is not delegating or prioritisingenough because he is so caught up to keep hisimage and reputation in the society.

He is unable to manage his time betweenpersonal and professional life.

There are various roles a person is supposed toperform eg.manager, husband, wife, father but

unfortunately he doesnt play any role other thanmanager.

This raises concerns about the lifestyle andattitute of people towards their family and theirown self.

Is economic or financial growth only importantfor a person?

No,because after office hours a managers timeis of is family and dear ones.

A person can not work like a machine. He needs time to

release his stress to work more efficiently.

It is necessary for a person to relax and give rest to his

    body.

E.g. If he is working for 8 to 10 hours and after coming

home also he is spending 2 hours on phone and laptop

then soon it may result in burnout. A person should give time to their children, understand

their problem which could otherwise affect them

    negatively.

Ceaseless growth is surprising because nothing cancontinue for a long time. Everything comes to an end

    one day.

40th flavor of toothpaste required because of

    heightened pitch of competition.

Everyone wants to build his brand name and

    image.

Companies work hard to grow bigger and bigger

engaging in mergers, new markets ,newchannels and new partner

E.g. earlierColgate had only one standard flavor

but now due to competition from pepsodent and

close up, it has come out with different taste likeaqua fresh and gel paste.

    Per capita income orPer capita

happiness (Schumacher's Buddhisteconomics) Buddhist economics is centered on want negation and

purification of the human character. It challenges the

basic principles of Western economics, (i) profit-maximization, (ii) cultivating desires, (iii) introducingmarkets, (iv) instrumental use of the world, and (v) self-interest based ethics. Buddhist economics proposesalternative principles such as (I) minimize suffering, (II)

simplifying desires, (III) non-violence, (IV) genuine care, and (V) generosity

Buddhist economics is a set of economic principle partlyinspired by Buddhist beliefs that individuals ought to dogood work in order to ensure proper human development

Inspire each one of us to want less : as anindividual has limited resources and with

this resource the person should use inbuying the basic needs and then move ourself to fulfill other demands.

Be alert of need breeding advertising: Asadvertising creates lot of unnecessaryneeds people should look into therepockets and wants and then look furtherfor the advertisement feasibility. As theseneeds may entertain you in short term butthey will show the problems in the future.

It is no mean a task : only deciding the task

is not important moving on the way

towards the task is also very important

with hard work, attitude, knowledge, self

    esteem ,devotion, timed bound, self

actualization. Also the task of a personchanges from time as soon the person

reaches the task he/she decides a new

task and this goes on. Life without a taskis meaning less.

Goods and services upon desire is the

above : a person buys anything becauseof need and this need should not only be

backed by money. It should be backed by

desire to spend that money. Need becomedemand and demand when backed by

money and desire to spend that money

    becomes want.

    their family, friends.

They are not able to get time for themselves

    We would loose market share

We will be known as old manufacturer

A manager should find ways to spend most ofhis time with his family. He can do the following:

Include spouses in the ManagementDevelopment program

It should be behavioural primarily and should bepreferred out door like a picnic.

Miss some meetings, miss some press interation. Call not essential could be missed.

If the person is doing work which is giving himhappiness then he should continue doing it but if

it is getting too much stressfull effecting hispersonal life,he should go a switch.

A manager should set his priorities right.it is notalways about pressures and stress but about apersons personal choice

E.g. Shuklajis behaviour is more an outcome ofthe values he held and the priority he set.

Values shape our attitude and that drives ourbehaviour.

If he continues to exhibit a behviour which is notliked by his family he can end up losing them

The Key lies in holding on what one believesand not let the world change ones values andrunning after immaterial things
